Sir Be has a very low tolerance for the imposters that have infested hip-hop culture. He is sick and tired of the new generation slang that has become so popular among social media. With this song, Sir Be is taking all these new kids back to school and showing them the true meaning of the boom bap essence.

Sir Be's new single "What Have I Done" is a song that not only promotes a positive outlook, but also self encouragement. He realizes that when he reflects back on all of his crazy adventures over the years, he will be able to smile and say that he enjoyed himself. The song not only offers examples of what he has been through and what he has done; but it also gives the listener the opportunity to ask him or herself the same question. Believing in yourself is extremely important when it comes to achieving anything in this world. Sir Be believes that if you can wake up every morning and tell yourself that you're the best, then you can go out there and conquer whatever is that you want to accomplish; and most  importantly...have fun while doing it. The new album from Sir Be & Jon Glass titled "Be About It" is set to release in the spring of 2015. Stay tuned!

Sir Be (Brandon Friend) was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1983. He was raised in Boxford; a suburb thirty minutes north of the city. Brandon grew up as a kid who loved the competitive nature of sports and the opportunity to entertain others. As he grew older, he found escape within the versatility of music and performing arts. Although the majority of musical genres were appealing to him, he was ultimately drawn towards the infectious wordplay and rhythm of hip-hop culture.

 Sir Be uses creative and versatile wordplay while still being able to incorporate messages within his music, a feat that is not often accomplished by many of today’s artists. Even though you may hear him displaying his lyrical diversity by dropping extensive metaphors on a track, his main objective is to have people relate to the songs. He stays true to the art of pure hip-hop music, drawing his listeners in with emotional lyricism which captures what he truly represents...the art of music.

 While at college, he created a name for himself across the campus as an emcee. He performed at a student run Apollo Night among many other diverse and talented acts. After returning home, he rocked the mic as part of the very first hip-hop ensemble at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in front of hundreds. He has since performed at multiple venues in and around the Boston area, opening for local veterans 7L & Esoteric, Akrobatik and Professor Lyrical. As well as national acts The Alchemist, Just Blaze and Nappy Roots.

 Sir Be will always continue to write, record and perfect his craft. Please stay tuned for new music if you appreciate the power of raw, emotional, energetic and thought provoking lyricism.
