Sir Be (Brandon Friend) was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1983. He was raised in Boxford; a suburb thirty minutes north of the city. Brandon grew up as a kid who loved the competitive nature of sports and the opportunity to entertain others. As he grew older, he found escape within the versatility of music and performing arts. Although the majority of musical genres were appealing to him, he was ultimately drawn towards the infectious wordplay and rhythm of hip-hop culture.

 Sir Be uses creative and versatile wordplay while still being able to incorporate messages within his music, a feat that is not often accomplished by many of today’s artists. Even though you may hear him displaying his lyrical diversity by dropping extensive metaphors on a track, his main objective is to have people relate to the songs. He stays true to the art of pure hip-hop music, drawing his listeners in with emotional lyricism which captures what he truly represents...the art of music.

 While at college, he created a name for himself across the campus as an emcee. He performed at a student run Apollo Night among many other diverse and talented acts. After returning home, he rocked the mic as part of the very first hip-hop ensemble at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in front of hundreds. He has since performed at multiple venues in and around the Boston area, opening for local veterans 7L & Esoteric, Akrobatik and Professor Lyrical. As well as national acts The Alchemist, Just Blaze and Nappy Roots.
