Why They Wanna

The banjee duo of Jersey artist Elizey, and Detroit artist/engineer Sir-Donavin collaborate for the first time on this hard-hitting, house-influenced deliverable. Sir-Donavin’s Why They Wanna ft. Elizey [Remix] will arrive via Regal Release Prod on 2 June, and is available to pre-order now.
“Why They Wanna is experimental yet nostalgic. The “Gypsy Woman” Sample is heard throughout the entire track. With direct emphasis put on the systemic silencing of femme voices, the title Why They Wanna serves as a rhetorical question while the passionate lyrics invert the scrutiny placed on black femme voices. 

"Why They Wanna" is a new sound for Sir-Donavin, who is distinguishing himself both as an engineer and as a rapper by repurposing a variety of different genres outside of the “Detroit Sound” Despite this diversion, he is able to make it work, his nimble wordplay and emphasis at the forefront of his production speaks to distinction in his unique mixes. 

This is the first new music Sir-Donavin has released in 2023, and the first authentic collaboration with another rapper but hopefully, Sir-Donavin and Elizey will drop some more gems this year.
