Sirens Podcast 034: Captain Mustache

Captain Mustache, a music producer and DJ hailing from Paris. Since 2020, he has released music on some of the industry's most respected labels, including Kompakt, Mobilee, Exploited, Permanent Vacation, Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder, and an album on John Digweed's Bedrock Records. His work has garnered consistent support from top DJs around the world.

A dedicated electronic music enthusiast, Captain Mustache has collaborated with renowned electro icons such as Dave Clarke, Arnaud Rebotini, Chicks on Speed, The Advent, and Keith Tucker from AUX88, adding a unique vocal depth to his productions.

In 2023, he reached a career milestone with The Super Album, released on the legendary KOMPAKT Records, joining the ranks of artists like Kölsch, Gui Boratto, Agents Of Time, and WhoMadeWho, who have also produced full albums for the label.

Inspired by the pioneers of space disco, Detroit techno, and electroclash, Captain Mustache's sound can be described as both romantic and burlesque.

James Reid has had an obsession with House music since 1998. Starting as pure vinyl-only DJ which is still his preferred platform buying records from stores in Leeds such as the revered Play Music where James developed his love for underground house music. After some local success in England, James discovered another place where the music he loved was centered, Ibiza. James started working the summer seasons in 2003 - 2006 as a resident DJ and made a permanent move to the island in 2011. James has held residencies at leading beach bars and has played at Space Ibiza at Carl Cox’s revolution night for Midnight Social Records, one of the 12 labels James is currently signed to. With his focus now on his own production James is now back based in the UK and his label Sonet Music is developing a greater presence in the scene that he is passionate about, producing and providing a new platform with a successful first 4 releases.

Seizun is a creative collaboration between Christian Henshaw (t.na) and Benjamin Joseph, which began in Ibiza during a transformative 2008 season working at The Zoo Project. Their name, a play on the word ‘season’, reflects their shared origins and the summers that shaped their musical journey.Their label, Taste The Rainbow Records, was created as a space for artistic freedom, showcasing their unique sound alongside collaborations with friends. By embracing both vinyl and digital formats, they ensure their music reaches a global audience.

Renowned for their seamless back-to-back sets, Seizun’s performances, including a recent recording at Berlin’s Renate, highlight their synergy and ability to take audiences on a journey. As key members of the Moving People collective, they’ve contributed to its identity through music and events.With new releases, live shows, and fresh projects on the horizon, Seizun continues to blend passion and creativity, shaping their future in the electronic music scene. for the eccentric use of his many alter ego such as Vision Of Gandhi, Autoerosynth,
Edward Norton, GreyFox amongst others and for his visionary musical imprint
Superluminal. The artist leads us to an immersive cinematic experience, we delve
into an hour of transcending techno, abstract storytelling journey and its capacity to
unveil his experimental aesthetic insights.
