Joe Madison, "The Black Eagle", on SiriusXM Urban View has decided to cancel his Washington Post subscription in response to Richard Cohen's editorial, "Racism vs. Reality", where he implies that being afraid of Black people isn't racist.

"If we use Richard Cohen's logic then we should be afraid of white men because they make up the majority of serial killers!" He then continued, saying, "I ain't giving them a freakin' dime until Richard Cohen apologizes."

Joe Madison to Cancel Washington Post Subscription Over Racist Editorial

Joe Madison, “The Black Eagle”, called for a throwback to a 1986 Cathy Hughes-led protest of the inaugural issue of the Washington Post Magazine in which columnist Richard Cohen sympathized with jewelry store owners who wanted to ban Black males from their stores.  The protest, dubbed “Throwback Sunday”, called for everyone to pile thousands of copies of the magazine at the steps of the newspaper building.

Richard Cohen’s latest Washington Post piece, in which he implies that being afraid of Black people isn’t racist, has inspired a throwback to “The Throwback”.

 Joe Madison, leading the modern cause, encouraged his listeners early Thursday morning to throw the upcoming Sunday issue (an advertisement-laden copy) on the steps of the Washington Post headquarters, located on 15th Street in Northwest Washington, DC.

Madison has unsubscribed from the Washington Post until Cohen issues an apology.

Joe Madison Offers Nick Cannon Advice on Interviewing Controversial Guests

Tracy Martin, father of the slain teenager Trayvon Martin, joined Joe Madison, “The Black Eagle”, to spread the word about The Trayvon Martin Foundation.

The Trayvon Martin Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that is accepting donations to raise awareness to prevent similar atrocities.  Martin said the Foundation’s mission is “to advocate against senseless violence across the country.”

“We’re trying to have mentorship programs in the community and trying to promote and educate our community on laws such as Stand Your Ground that we don’t know about that are being applied to us […] we’re trying to get the legislatures to review the Stand Your Ground laws and make some amendments to these laws,” Martin explained.

Mr. Martin also expressed his gratitude for the support black media gave and the role it played in shedding light on his son's death.

Joe Madison, who sells his own coffee aptly named “Black Eagle Brew” through USA Coffee Company, then announced to Mr. Martin that for every bag of Black Eagle Brew or Black Eagle product sold, Madison will donate his profit to the Trayvon Martin Foundation.

Tracy Martin Advocates for Criminal Law Education Through Mentorship Programs

Wil Haygood, acclaimed Washington Post writer and author of the new book, "The Butler", joined Joe Madison, "The Black Eagle", early Tuesday morning to talk about the inspiration behind the book and the forthcoming movie of the same title about White House Butler Eugene Allen.

Wil Haygood shares stories of his motivation to write "The Buter" and his writing process, where he met Eugene Allen's wife of 65 years who shared her husband's story of working in the White House across eight presidencies.

"This is the Civil Rights movie of our time", Haygood said on The Madison Show. "I hope that is the message that people get from both the book and the movie".

Kevyn Orr, Detroit's new Emergency Manager, is receiving backlash for comments he made in an interview with the Wall Street Journal this past weekend, in which he referred to the people of Detroit as "dumb, lazy, happy, and rich."

"Not only am I for Kevyn Orr (leaving), if the Governor doesn't come out stronger and give an actual apology instead of that big ball of nothing that he came out with...then I think the Governor needs to step down (as well)", State Senator Young said.

On Tuesday, Joe Madison, "The Black Eagle" raised questions regarding the cholera outbreak in Haiti.  There has been minimal news coverage and aide given to the country. The epidemic caused by a battalion of 2010 U.N. peacekeepers has resulted in 8,000 civilians killed and another 600,000 sickened. In the past 150 years, there has been no trace of the disease in the country, but Haiti now has the highest number of people infected by cholera.
