Sir Kirston’s “Black Luv” is an urban melodic depiction of his experiences with love, his view on love and his desire to express the unique inspiration, balance, beauty, strength, stability and sacredness of “Black Luv.”

After writing his first song at 13 during lunch detention — a place he frequented as a kid — Kirston never imagined it would plant the seed for a lifelong love of music. Growing up in Garyville, Louisiana, his passion at the time was sports.

Kirston went on to accept a scholarship to Louisiana State University (LSU), where he became the first collegiate football player to be a part of two BCS National Championships. Despite the accolades, music wasn’t yet a focus. His early years were filled with both athletic triumph and heartbreak. After signing as a free agent with the now Los Angeles Rams in 2009, an injury during minicamp abruptly halted his NFL aspirations. He never got another shot.

While training in hopes of returning to the league, Kirston began releasing music under the name PittyDaKid, a childhood nickname that stuck with him through his early adult years. He dropped mixtapes and albums but never found the traction he hoped for. Still, the fire never faded. He continued to write, record, and soul-search while working jobs and trying to discover his identity — not just as an artist, but as a man.

Fast forward to 2024, and Kirston finally sat down to complete the work he started.
Identify’n Self was born.

Self-written and self-produced, the 12-track album marks the moment Kirston found his voice. With standout tracks like “Keisha From Colorado,” “Life Ain’t All Lilies It Could Lime,” and “BUST DOWN,” he now stands fully in his light — fearless, seasoned, and ready.
