Prague-based Funkdup Crew is back with a diverse selection of remixes of their club roller Like This feat. Bru-C. The original was created after Bru-C's performance in Cross Club. Bru-C was called "the voice of Bassline in 2017" by UKF and has since found his place on the throne of bass music. We are proud to work with him and present a varied selection of remixes.
The legendary Burgaboy steps up with an authentic golden-era bassline banger, German outlet We Are Nuts! bring a more modern vibe which will be sure to destroy dancefloors. French producer JM adds a clean and playful UK garage vibe, while up-and-coming West Sussex artist Kirbs brings the signature Lengoland bass sound for maximum dancefloor potential. Hungarian producer Sirmo tops it all off with a grime-tinged UK funky take. All together, the Like This remix EP should have something for everyone.

Prague-based Funkdup Crew is back with a diverse selection of remixes of their club roller 'Like This' feat. Bru-C. This track originated from a studio session that took place the day after Bru-C's performance at the iconic Funk'd Up party at Cross Club, Prague. Bru-C was called 'the voice of bassline in 2017' by UKF and has since found his place on the throne of bass music. We are proud to have worked with this versatile MC and as a follow-up we have put together a varied selection of remixes.

Now in the UK, something we are super proud of is our incredible musical diversity, as we see so many different genres emerge from our sainted little island, drawing influence from around the world. We look at the explosions of underground genres such as UKG and dubstep and grime around the world, and see that the UK sound is one that the world seems to just take to.

Today therefore we are super excited to take a trip across the channel and deep into Europe as we pack our bags for an adventure into the thriving bass scene in Prague. It's always exciting for us to see the UK genres thrive abroad, so to see the fantastic impact that bass music is currently experiencing across Europe is a truly awesome thing to witness.

When we saw that man like Bru-C, one of the UK's most popular MC's now across multiple genres, was taking the trip Prague to get involved with a full scale release, we couldn't resist taking a quick peek. The 2017 'Voice Of Bassline' winner teamed up with the Funkdup Crew when he headed out to the city to perform at the famed Cross Club...

Hailing from Pécs, a small-ish, but remarkably bustling university town in the south of Hungary, Andras Szirmai had quite a bunch of different influences growing up: drumandbass, breaks, hiphop, school radio parties, supporting international artists in Budapest clubs, later listening to grime and bassline house, et cetera.

Out of this mixture comes his layered, bassline-heavy world that would hold his own even in street-level London – and indeed it does: since he started cooking up his own beats in 2007, he’s built himself quite a significant number of supporters. Think Kissy Sell Out, The Artful Dodger, Flava D and DJ Q – and also Rinse.FM, where he receives more and more airplay as his EPs come by.

 

Solid shuffle, tight drums and intricate bass work is what Sirmo’s music is all about – sometimes romantic and playful, but more often than not it also includes darker and sicker affairs, minding dancefloor effectiveness at all times. Definitely someone to watch out for, especially if you’re into world-class UKG!
