Sir Prestige was born in the town of Nakuru, Kenya and raised in the East African capital of Nairobi before emigrating with his parents and siblings to sunny London to pursue his higher education. His interest into musical production was a natural progression from DJing at local London youth-clubs, school discos, house-parties and local night-spots as part of two notable sound-systems he has been a part of over the years. 

He formed Social Misfit Entertainment, and the Social Misfits - a now renowned collective of talent affiliated with the label, to help nature the wealth of potential talent around his neighbourhood and sealed a distribution deal for the label with BMG in its first year. With a catalogue of 7 albums by various Social Misfits to his production credit Social Misfit Entertainment have been steadily putting it down since 1998. 

As well as working, collaborating, performing alongside and generally associating himself with just about every UK hiphop artist that was active at the turn of the new millennium Sir Prestige has also worked with a host of artists overseas and most especially Africa. He is particularly proud of his Kenyan background and is well renowned within the urban scene in Eastern Africa for helping push this scene worldwide. 

A hiphop fan from way back in the day he is more likely to bop his head to African and International Hiphop. When not banging beats, producing future hits or seeking exposure for his artists the original social misfit can be found producing the Station Sound/Imaging and Promotions for UKs biggest and UKs hottest, BBC Radio 1 and  BBC Radio 1Xtra. 

He has worked with a  number of chart topping artist over the years and is widely credited for discovering and helping launching the musical career of grammy award winning artist Estelle.  Presently Sir Prestige is shopping beats to a host of upcoming album projects by other popular names.  The beats featured on his profile here can be considered as an invitation for collaboration with established and up-n-coming acts and are generally available to artists requiring music for their projects. Sir Prestige describes his unique production sound as a combination of his African upbringing, international outlook and a wide array of musical influences from his global exposure. The centre-piece of his West Croydon based studio set-up is a Mac Pro running Logic equipped with a select set of plug-ins and a host of hardware (s3000, s950, 02r, EMU sampler/modules, JoeMeek, DBX outboards, etc).
