He spoke too softly this time.
Like someone trying to confess to the air.
I could almost hear the word “sorry” hiding behind his breath.
The office was quiet — no perfume, no laughter, no keys clicking.
Only that weightless silence that follows when truth arrives too late.
I let the synths hum low, like his heartbeat after the lights go out.
Maybe he meant well. Maybe he didn’t.
It doesn’t matter anymore — the suit is empty now.
The echo keeps whispering.
And beneath it, a voice that still remembers her.
