Patrick Topping’s productions have an effortless swagger when it comes to working the dancefloor and still only on his second EP, the North-East’s star in the making is showing plenty of nous with his massive debut for Hot Trax and now the intoxicating ‘Any Amounts EP’ on Hot creations. A-side ‘Any Amounts’ is getting hammered by Jamie Jones and crew, packed with stomping bass and ridiculously infectious top-lines, it’s a simple and dangerously effective weapon to destroy all dancefloors. ‘The Point’ moves into glitchier territory with another tough and raw bassline and old-school synths. On the flip, ‘Look Around’ weaves provocative vocal clips with heavy bass, a disembodied chorus and syncopated beats. Last but not least Patrick pairs another breathless vocal sample for ‘In My’ with a stripped back bumpin’ house groove, arpeggiated synths and subaqueous growl.

Patrick Topping delivered his first EP ‘Walk On’ on off-shoot Hot Trax earlier this year, which reached no.5 in the Beatport Deep House charts and was championed by Pete Tong on his legendary BBC radio 1 show.

With his tracks gaining support from heavyweights Franck Roger, Richy Ahmed and Darius Syrossian and Jamie Jones even before they were signed, it was only a matter of time before the budding artist broke into the limelight.

Now 24 years old Patrick, first built a DJ career around playing at his own popular club night in Newcastle, Motion while at Uni but started concentrating on production in 2011. Through the old-fashioned demos route, Patrick caught the attention of the Hot Creations camp as they recognised the talent and Patrick’s innate ability to craft a banging record.

With a history of releases for the likes of Hot Creations, Lost and Phobic behind him, the Leeds producer is well-fitted to Matthias Tanzmann's label. Taking things deep, down and dirty on his new effort, Kurmis turns out 3-tracks of sultry house.

Our Debut Transmission 'Fourtunes' uses its simple call and response vibe to devastating effect, answering a murky grumble with the digital drip of acidic synths.

Moon Harbour is delighted to welcome German-Turk Butch for its next EP, a scintillating two tracker full of the prolific producer’s usual dance floor clout.   Butch is something of a music making machine: over the last ten years he has turned out more than 50 EPs and two albums. Often marrying house and techno with freaky after party vibes, he has collaborated with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, runs his own label Bouq and has released on many others including Visionquest, Drumcode and Play It Say It. 

Opening up the EP is ‘El Camion,’ a rich and bubbly nine minute opus with muttered vocals adding intrigue to a supple and rubbery groove. Bird sounds and vocal calls, colourful synth daubs and sunny day stylings all make this a hypnotic affair that is perfect for open air parties, terraces and summer shindigs.

Remixing this one is our Debut Transmission today, the Ukraine born, Canadian based Ellroy, a producer who often has his tracks played by the likes of Marco Carola and Reboot. He releases them on his own Stereo Tension and here flips the original into a more turbocharged and direct version with expansive pads, blasts of bass and busy claps and toms that are loose and funky.

Eli Brown is one of the hotly tipped British producers to break through this coming year. Despite having a Beatport profile still in its first year, Brown has already caught the attention of some major players, including our very own Steve Lawler. And with this Tech house inspired bass-heavy 4-piece EP in 3AM, released on VIVa LIMITED in May, Brown is certifying his increasing pedigree in the house and techno field.

Bristol has a knack for engendering quality house and techno DJs, and current rising star Eli Brown, is incorporating his drum and bass heritage to influence contemporary British house music. 
His debut release came via electronic music pioneer Skream and his imprint Of Unsound Mind. The tracks  ‘Acid Test’ and ‘Can You Feel It’ were regularly played on Rinse FM and BBC Radio 1 thanks to Danny, Howard, Solardo and Monki. The latter also invited the Bristolian to join her most recent The Warning Tour, supporting her at Southampton’s Junk. 

Support has also come from Leftwing & Kody, Annie Mac and Groove Armada, as this talented producer is slowly defining himself as one of Britain’s most exciting house and techno artists, already touring some of the best clubs in the British clubbing circuit. Eli Brown, remember the name.

Up next on Hot Creations is intrepid Spaniard Dennis Cruz. The award winning DJ and producer drops some heavy hitting dance-floor dynamite this June, enlisting the production expertise of New York’s Joeski for the remix.

Title track Freaks is deep and driving, with its almost slurred vocal, it’s perfect for those 4am vibes when the freaks come out to play. Mother F*cker utilises heavier percussion set off by a pounding bass. The Joeski rework of Freaks adds a dash of prominent high-hats with the producer softening that unmistakable bass-line. Dennis explains "this EP is the style of music that I love to play and produce. It's what I feel more comfortable with and what I think defines my sound”.

Dennis Cruz has been firmly implanted in the music scene from a young age. He got his first taste for playing music at the age of 17. Since then he’s gone on to produce tracks for prominent labels such as Moon Harbour, Solid Grooves, Snatch! And Nervous Records. His records have been championed by some of the industry’s hottest DJs from Jamie Jones to Loco Dice, and Nic Fanciulli to Marco Carola. As well as receiving recognition from Radio 1, Mixmag and DJ Mag. Add to that winning multiple awards awards and nominations from Beatport, Resident Advisor, Vicious and the DJ Awards Best Producer in 2017.

Northern star Denney returns to Hot Creations with his West Coast Revival EP - a
full power nod to the early days of his career, inviting Liverpool’s latest export
Melé and Denver tech-house pioneer Hipp-e to provide the remixes.

Club Bad founder Melé makes his first appearance on the label with his remix.
Heavy on the percussion, he creates a tribal ambience with a deep and driving
bass that pushes it into peaktime party territory. With almost three decades in the
business, Hipp-e is widely regarded as being one of the pioneers of the West
Coast scene. He co-founded H-Foundation, which held a residency at fabric for
eight years. His version steers the track into darker territory, creating an insatiable
late-night aesthetic.

2018 was a huge year for James Denney, aka Denney. He produced a slew of
releases for top imprints including Saved Records, Relief, Knee Deep In Sound,
Moon Harbour and Pete Tong’s FFRR. His skills as a DJ have seen him tour
globally taking in Brazil, Argentina and Australia as well as Europe and North
America, where he held down a residency at Miami’s infamous Heart. He has also
been a regular figure in Ibiza at DC10 and Amnesia. In 2019, Denney’s pace
shows no sign of slipping with plenty of releases in the pipeline as well as plans to
launch a series of events in his hometown of Middlesborough and his own label.
