With the search lights lit, music enthusiasts can find Flatlands-Hip Hop veteran Sirvis amongst the Canadian prairies finest artists. Through his music, he carries the weight of a lengthy catalogue of albums that first started to surface in 2005. Fast forward ten years, five album releases later and you can still find him on the beating path baring the Saskatchewan torch and leaving his mark in every city he visits. Now in 2015, he’s back for another round with his new full length album titled ‘Birds and The Worm’. Produced entirely by beatsmith Atrium, the album brings a transitional sound with an innovative style to the platform of Canadian Rap. Front to back, the album consists of 13 songs with features from the likes of Juno Award winning artist Josh Martinez, Portland production behemoth Sapient and fellow prairie based artist Kay The Aquanaut. With production that ranges from a more mellow mood setting on tracks like “Let Me Show You” and “Only Wings” all the way to double-time lyrics layered over hard hitting keys on “Shades” and “Drones”, the album embodies the varying phases in which the album transitioned through before its completion. Sirvis, The Irish Southpaw is still swinging for the fences, still heavily invested in his craft, and still one of the hardest working artists in the melting pot of Independent music.
