Happy Holidays!

It's RARE I release a live mix. I'm usually far too critical and in general I think most live mixes should live in the moments they are created in.. BUT every now and then you come across an exception. 

On the 9th Anniversary since creating our event "Makossa", we were able to get the ENTIRE Latin Soul Brothers crew to be in attendance for the first time EVER with all 5 LSB DJ's sharing the turntables in The Town where it all began. This is a special recording to say the least.

Thank you to all our family, friends, and fellow music lovers in the Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, and around the world who have supported us over the last 9 years. We hope you accept this as a token of our appreciation.

Finally had time to put together a little DJ-mix for the first time this year. I had originally hoped to get this out around my 40th birthday in March, but as with many plans, that didn't quite come together. So this is like a post-birthday-early-summer-favorites mix. On my 30th birthday, I put together a long, all-vinyl mixtape of many of my all-time favorite hip-hop records. This time around, I wanted to highlight a number of songs that have stayed in rotation for years - some for over a decade - but weren't all vinyl, or all hip-hop. Just some personal favorites that have meaning to me. I also got to experiment a little with my new Pioneer DJ mixer, throwing in a few minor effects on transitions, which was fun.

Fingers-crossed I'll have at least one more summertime mix in the coming months, but we'll see how it goes...for now, hope you enjoy these selections.

The self-proclaimed Renegade of Funk, DJ YNOT has established himself as one of Miami’s finest party rockers. For over a decade YNOT has refined  his skills whilst  unearthing new and old sounds alike. He has evolved from cutting and scratching records in his bedroom to bringing his record bag all over Florida and beyond.

His ability and dedication to the art form has led him to share the stage with everyone from hip hop legends the Wu-Tang Clan to  Britney Spears. YNOT has also played alongside other DJ luminaries such as A-Trak, Peanut Butter Wolf, Kenny Dope, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Questlove, Rich Medina, KON, DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist, Cosmo Baker, and DJ Craze, to name a few. 

The last of a generation YNOT has carved a lane where technical skills and an appreciation for quality music are still accepted.  Looking forward he plans on taking listeners on a musical journey.  In the future YNOT will expand  with ever evolving new sounds and fly under the radar quietly making noise.
