Introducing our next Sister of Sound - LEAH MARIE

Having taken behind decks of iconic institutions such as Revolver Upstairs and Killing Time shortly after her DJ debut, Leah's powerful progressive sounds clearly resonate with Melbournes dance community. Her driving melodic stance encapsulates the audience and straps them in for the journey.

From growing up playing classical piano, to developing a love for electronic music as a teen; music has always been an important part of Leah’s life. In 2019, Leah finally decided to jump behind the decks and she hasn’t looked back. In 2021, she played at some of Melbourne’s most well-known venues such as Glamorama, 24 Moons, Pawn & Co; and achieved one of her dreams to play in the cage for Revolver Sundays at Revolver Upstairs.

Bio: 

Cara has been a familiar face around the Melbourne scene for over 15 years, falling in love with Classic House music in local haunts such as Q Bar and Saratoga early on then expanding into a love for Progressive/Melodic House and Techno. 

Heavily inspired by the current sounds of legends such as Sebastien Leger, Oliver Koletzki and Eelke Klein to name just a few, Cara decided to make the move from dancefloor to decks at the start of 2021. 

Although not entirely new to DJ'ing having dabbled in some mobile gigs in the early 2000's, this year is her first year playing the music she truly loves and her passion for these tunes really show through in her mixes. 

So far this new venture has taken off with a bang having already cracked into the club scene at Pawn & Co, landing work with Silent Sounds, and curating guest mixes for AATM radio UK, Aycliffe Radio UK, Mutha FM South Africa and the Cut Loose Crew podcast you are sure to see Cara's name around this coming summer! 

Her mix for Doesn't Matter is a move into some more driving progressive sounds, a tribute of sorts to the parties that she hopes to see return to their rightful glory very soon.

A live and un-cut recording of our DJ set during Max Freak's Fiasco Stage Takeover at Rainbow Serpent Festival this year.

Thank you to everyone for the good vibes on the dance-floor, it's the people that make the party and the crowd was absolutely rocking! Our set was for the vast majority unplanned, and track selection was directed by the crowd's response - just the way we like to do it!

Devotion to the art of creating music along with an undeniable presence of synchronicity has brought this mix to you.
I had only just discovered Flow Sessions and was just a couple of weeks deep into exploring the collection of mixes, when I was invited to put together my own Flow Session recording. I was genuinely taken by surprise. Was this a sign? Not sure, however, I was humbled to be asked to contribute to this curation of world class music.
Releasing this 3 hour and 33 minute long mix, on the 3rd day, of the 3rd month of the year, at 33 years of age seems again, mystically fitting and I am thankful for the alignment. Though it has been a busy year in the studio, this is the first music that I have shared publicly in over a year, and i feel a great sense of relief to finally let go and allow it to be heard by an audience other than my cat. :)
This set features all original tracks, made with love, and woven together in hope of portraying what I feel is the essence of the past year. For many of us 2020 was a time of both fear and uncertainty, hope and re-discovery; surrendering to change through darker times, and finally moving forward into the light. The idea was to capture a reflection of a personal journey through our recent past and into the brighter present. 
Thank you again to Flow Sessions and all those who contribute to help support artists during this time. It has truly been both a pleasure and a ride to create this set for you all. I wish you all love and good times ahead. May we all dance together soon!
