Following the release of Francesco Pico's fourth studio album 'Perpetual E-Motion,' which was released in the summer of 2023, we are planning to release a handful of remixes on Magnitude Recordings in 2024.

The first two remixes are done by Kyotto and Around Us, two known names in the Progressive House scene, and two personal favorites of Francesco who selected them personally.

Ruben Karapetyan's RKP imprint continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Shayan Pasha to the label for his debut single. Hailing from Iran, Shayan Pasha first emerged as a DJ in 2010 where he quickly became a fixture of his country's nightlife, while performing alongside some of the world's top progressive house talents. A production career would follow where early releases via Area Verde, Massive Harmony Records and his own Wander Nation imprint would establish Shayan as a name to watch. 2023 proved to be Shayan's most prolific and successful year to date, notching key projects for Droid9, MNL and Transensations Records, while also receiving play from progressive house icon Hernan Cattaneo on multiple occasions. Now, looking to continue on an upwards trajectory, Shayan begins the new year by making his RKP debut with 'Synonym', alongside remixes HAFT and Kenan Savrun. 'Synonym' is apt barometer of where Shayan's headspace is at, as he lets gated synths and orbiting effects descend over punchy beats pulsating grooves. Haunting vocal swells and fragmented melodies add depth and space leading into the main break, where Shayan looks to build a greater emotional response through icy pads and windswept sonics, before eventually melting down into an understated drop and suitable groove-centric finale. Making their label debut with the first interpretation of 'Synonym' is HAFT. Hailing from Iran, Sam Nasehi and Amir Subb make up the HAFT production duo. A 2017 debut on Pipe & Pochet would establish the duo's blend of mesmerizing synths and exotic percussive arrangements, a sound which would lead them to releases via Akbal Music, Do Not Sit and Hoomidaas across the last half-decade. With 2023 wrapping up with a well-received debut on Mango Alley, HAFT now begins 2024 on an equally high note, making their RKP debut with an inspired take on 'Synonym'. Built around a deep thumping framework, HAFT focuses on rhythm and groove across the first act, nicely balanced with a healthy dose of squelchy synths and percolating effects. Carrying a swaying cadence into the main break, the duo build tension as beats rise and fall against a backdrop of quirky modulation, eventually giving way to a staggered drum build and driving final movement. The release concludes with Kenan Savrun making his label debut with the second final interpretation of 'Synonym'. Hailing from Ankara, the Turkish artist has a long history as a DJ dating back over two decades, having shared the booth with Alex Niggemann, Eli & Fur, Victor Ruiz and Oliver Huntemann. Upon releasing his first productions in September of 2018, Kenan has since gone on to showcase his music via longstanding imprints such as 3rd Avenue, Droid9, Global Underground, One Of A Kind and more. With 2023 wrapping up with a collaborative EP for Univack alongside RKP boss Ruben Karapetyan, Kenan now makes his label debut with a trippy rendition of 'Synonym'. With a deeper approach, Kenan remodels the track into a meditative slice of progressive house. Complete with spacious basslines, hypnotic rhythms and vibrant percussive flurries, it's a smooth energy-rush to round out the release in style - one where Kenan operates at his creative peak.

n artist with a diverse and storied relationship with the dance music scene, GMJ & Matter are proud to see Kasper Koman make his label debut with the twin-track “Sinking Sky / Biome”.

A veteran of more than a century of production credits dating back to a 2008 debut, Kasper Koman has seen his work signed to myriad high-profile labels including the likes of Plattenbank, Anjunadeep and Guy J’s Lost & Found. From central Netherlands, Kasper has combined trademark emotion with a powerful and evocative sound that has seen his music supported by such leading tastemakers as Guy Mantzur, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo and Guy J himself.

Now debuting on Meanwhile, the “Sinking Sky” opener is characterised by a driving beat and metronomic hi-hat pattern. A running 16th note bassline pattern enters the fray in the second movement with a fizzing vibrancy provided by resonating and filtered effects. A cast of additional characters add to the overall sonic landscape including a beautifully juxtaposed pad progression. A spine-tingling breakdown provides acetylene-edged emotion via the extended bassline motif, before hitting its stride once more in the latter stages to wondrous effect and no small amount of production talent.

“Biome” continues the narrative of raw effects-laden power, while a strong kick lays the foundation for a piercing percussive groove, adding swing to the off-beat. A well-crafted sonic palette supplies a soft chord progression of Kraftwerk-inspired imagination as a meandering array of well-placed effects, white-noise washes and rasping bass notes create a mosaic of sounds. The result is a hypnotic, angular offering that keeps listener interest piqued without a central melody seeing the 6-minute piece fly past in an instant.

A welcome return to the world of progressive house sees Kasper Koman enchant and enthral with “Sinking Sky / Biome”.
