All original tunes plus a couple of collabs with some killer producers that I know, 100% Australian psychedelia. It was such a pleasure to play this music for the first time at such a beautiful event for amazing friends of mine.

The sistrum was a sacred instrument in ancient Egypt. Originating in the worship of Bastet, it was used in dances and religious ceremonies, particularly in the worship of the goddess Hathor. The sistrum consisted of a wooden or metal frame fitted with loose strips of metal and disks which jingled when moved. This noise was thought to attract the attention of the gods.

Sistrum is the solo project of Jack Young (one half of Sobek and Hieroglyphick). Jack began his musical career in 2012 DJing and producing bass music with Sam Knights (the other half of Sobek and Hieroglyphick) performing in venues such as Wasteland and Coniston Lane playing local bass music nights and local bush doofs supportings acts such as Ollie Bassweight, Opiuo, Subaqueous, Xenoscapes and many more.
In 2013 Jack started his psytrance journey DJing and producing psytrance under the alias Hieroglyphick (with Sam Knights) playing at local and interstate bush parties playing an array of dark influenced psychedelic music.
