Thanks to everyone who supported me in any way during the last weeks & the whole album process, but especially Geli for the Cover-Artwork & Jonas Ebert for mixing & mastering all 10 songs of the Album.

It´s been a quite emotional process recording all those songs, giving this album a structure of my current thoughts and moods but at the end I am more than happy, more than excited to share finally all songs with you :)

Times are rough, that does not mean we must be rough to each other -  hope you all can take nicely care of each other! <3 Wishing you all the best wherever you are & what you are going through or not, all the best:

Vor 3-4 Jahren traf ich den Maler tiefnachts in einer halbstillgelegten Metallwerkstatt im Industriegebiet. Ich weiß nicht, ob wir viel geredet haben, aber sicher sagte er: "Carlo, du chasch alles vo mir ha". Es war die Zeit in der die Texte zum Album 'Souleater' entstanden. Das hiess damals aber 'Oszillation' und wurde von einem freundlichen Peruaner auf selbstgemachten Kassetten veröffentlicht, unterlegt von komplett anderer Musik. Eine Skizze vom Maler auf dem Cover. Wahrscheinlich präsentierte ich die verwunschene Italo-Disco Plattensammlung aus dem Brockenhaus als ich den Maler traf. Als wir uns das erste Mal einigermaßen wahrnahmen. Auf dem riesigen 90er Soundsystem. Ich glaube das war der Nachlass eines lustigen verkoksten DJs. Drum war ich ihm so sympathisch. Als 'Oszillation' erschien, da war ich wieder daheim. Zurück vom Irrenhaus. Weil mir das Geld ausging. Und es war mir total Wurst und ich war froh, dass sie weit weg war, die Kassette.

Magisch denkend, mich über Paolo Coehlo lustig machend, obwohl er mir im sympathisch ist. Zweite Jugend. Frei von der Idee, sein zu wollen. Schön wärs. Immer das Gefühl, dass es an Zeit fehlt, schreibe ich 500 Lieder. Wie andere mit dem Hund spazieren gehen. Ein tonales Tagebuch. Der Wirrwarr lässt sich wohl nur kommentiert überblicken. Es kommt vor, dass ich Menschen treffe, die mich mit meiner Musik verwechseln. Zu nah schreibe ich an was ich antreffe und sich der Kopf darauf reimt. Dabei ist zu unterscheiden: Was man denkt und phantasiert ist nicht gleich was ist und was man sich wünscht. In einem Gespräch letztens ging es um die Einstellung in der Musik, um den dahinterliegenden Existenzialismus. Die Ernsthaftigkeit gepaart mit Discomusik und Schalk - im besten Fall. Und wie sich die Themen wiederholen, wie die Texte immer wieder aufgenommen werden. Wie Mantras. Auch "Sturm + Drang" ist Teil dessen. Eine persönliche Celebration. Auch ziert es wieder ein Bild des Malers. Ich habe das Original nie gesehen. Es sei genau so gross wie ein Plattencover. Als ich ein Foto in höherer Auflösung besorgen wollte - das Bildli ist von google - hiess es schlicht und knurrig: "Dä Fotograf hätz mit is Grab gno." We've seen Darker Days. Eine liebe Freundin half mir, die Grafik umzusetzen. "Du chasch alles vo mir ha." Angestoßen hat diese Musik ein DJ-Set auf Youtube, welches "This Youth got no Future" mit hedonistischem Wumms unterlegte. 909 olé! Und erst noch von Zalando gesponsert. Das Absurde schlägt zurück. Die Platte ist als kleine Feier gedacht. Als Feier der vergangenen 3-4 Jahre. Ein Weitermachen und sich vorwärts und rückwärts bewegen. Aus Trotz und mit Neugier.

UNDERVIEWER is the duo formed in 1979 by Patrick Codenys and Jean-Luc De Meyer before they joined FRONT 242. They reworked their old songs based on reel to reel 4 tracks recordings of songs sequences and sounds between 1980 and 1981. Now they brought to us this magnificent album ”Wonders & Monsters”. The album its impeccable, experimental, melodic and powerful.
