Former SpinART recording artist Zeke Fiddler's version of the VU classic, "Candy Says", on which he sings and plays everything, except the drums, which he got from editing my drum part from Lo Fine's "Stay in Bed". He didn't tell me he was doing this--he just handed me a CDR one night in 2001 (or so) outside the Baystate without explanation. I still love listening to this.

In 1995, Ken Maiuri and Brian Marchese contributed a cover of XTC's "That's Really Super, Supergirl" to a compilation called Skylacking--a song by song tribute to XTC's classic album, Skylarking. 
Ken had the idea of doing the song as if it were recorded by 1978-79-era XTC.

That's Really Super, Supergirl by The Pop-Up Book

A few of these--and you can tell the difference--are from 2005 and were recorded on a digital 8 track that I was given and had no idea how to use. Plus, the drums come from a Casio keyboard I worked manually. Everything used on those songs perished in a fire, and in 2007 I started using Garageband for demos. Aahhh...much better. And incredibly close to what the albums sound like.

Recorded the same day as "Mediocre Meteor", and same story: I'm on drums, guitar and voice. Henning is engineering and playing bass. And no, neither of us has any recollection of the whens or wheres. 

Skipping to the End (2005 demo)

Sitting Next to Brian is the name given to the collective of musicians led by songwriter/drummer/sort-of-guitar player Brian Marchese. They play gigs every now and again. There are three albums out on Rub Wrongways Records and a fourth due out in 2013. It's a bit poppy a bit trippy and strives to be as ear-wormy as can be.
