When Martin agreed to do a remix for me, I was very happy and proud since I really love his music and was thrilled to have such a big name and talented artist on the EP. When he sent the remix, I was even more excited, as I feel he made it his own while being truthful to the original vibe - only much more energetic! He was humble and very friendly to me, asking for feedback and suggestions, which just shows what a great guy he was.

Naturally, I was devastated by the news of his death. Even though I'd only emailed with him for a short while, it was obvious to me that he represented the same key values, which mean so much to me: openness, dedication and a deep love for the music!

To honour and respect the memory of Martin, I really wanted to get this beautiful remix out there to be heard and enjoyed by as many people as possible; because I think the most important thing for a musician, is for his music to be heard and for his legacy to live on in the hearts and minds of others. Unfortunately, the file Martin had sent us was an unmastered mp3 file, so it was not possible to make an official release of the song in that format.

Now, more than one year later, it has been possible to export the track from the original Logic project, sent to me by Steve, Martin’s father. Now it was in a proper format for mastering, which Martin’s friend, Rob Small of Rob Small Mastering, agreed to do pro bono so that the song can be enjoyed in the best sound quality possible.

This song is free to download, share and post it wherever you like - we would all appreciate any help spreading it!

Tears For Fears - Everybody Wants to Rule the World (Sivesgaard's Acid Rework)

Very few artists in the club music scene sell enough tracks to live from their passion. Those that do, are usually either into the more mainstream sound of house music, or have found their own niche and sound, that make them stand out from the crowd, and have gathered a devout fan base. There are literally hundreds of releases every day, and unless you get signed by one of the top labels, chances are that you'll receive very little interest (if any) as an unknown artist.

Then there's piracy. The vast majority of songs that are downloaded from the internet, don't generate any income for the artists. If you're already rich and famous, this may not be that big a problem, but for the struggling laptop-in-the-bedroom artist this means a lot. Most of them, myself included, have to work day-time jobs, and may not have much spare time to produce tracks. Needless to say, this limits the amount of music that the little guy puts out there, which I think is a shame, for very often it's the odd, offbeat tunes that moves you the most. So remember to support the music you love, buy the tracks and make a difference!

Facing the seemingly impossible odds of making it as an electronic music artist, I have decided to give away my newest single. For I would rather make no money, than not be heard. It is a privilege to be able to make some people happy through music, to touch their hearts with a tune, and make them feel as I do when I hear other peoples tracks. Every email and comment I have received with people having enjoyed my music, makes me want to do more, to do better and spread the love!

For it's all about the love for the music, and music for the love!

Heavily inspired by the synth based, melody-driven sound of the 80's, danish producer Sivesgaard has evolved his own sound, which often is difficult to categorize. Often melancholic, always melodic, his songs are created to immerse you and bring out your innermost feelings – as he tells it: “Music needs soul and all emotions; sadness, melancholy, euphoria, happiness and above all - purpose!
