This song was made through a wonderful collaboration with @Melodinumbra - I wrote, and he produced! This is an amazing track that I can't thank Melodinumbra enough for stepping in on. I am very happy with the outcome and I hope anyone who listens will enjoy it! 
This song is in loving memory of my dear friend Jayson, who unexpectedly passed away on December 9th, 2023. I dedicate this song to my friend Rowan, who was also best friends with Jayson, and to anyone else who has lost someone special to them.

You were a light in our society, Doctor D. - Melodinumbra and I decided to team up again to give life to this tribute to my beloved professor, who recently passed away. My professor "Dr. D" loved science fiction and admired hardwave music, so I decided to write this song about him. Escaping Binary

Follow a story beginning with the mysterious Diamond of Life exhibition in Adenrend, a secluded, scholarly island full of knowledge on its vast shelves and in its scarce residents. But the Diamond is not something to be toyed with. It is a divine gem that holds magic-life. This magic was never given to a human because it was so powerful that the judicious one feared its potential for abuse. 

Huge thanks to @Melodinumbra for taking my lyrics and running with them to create this amazing hardwave slash techno track! This is the opening track for my album, The Eclipse of Death. While you're at it, you should also check out Melodinumbra's solo album, TRAVELER: ACT I.

Before we begin, I would like to point out a few things:
You cannot touch the diamond, but you can feel it.
And you cannot have the diamond, but you can carry it with you.
Without further ado, this is the Diamond of Life.

The Diamond - Eclipsed Version feat. Melodinumbra

After Zacharias's scheme unfolds, Emory's husband, Maya, steps to the forefront of the scene to protect Becky.

Stop right there, Emory.

[Emory Wilson:]
I have no intention of listening to you, Maya.

[Maya Lockett:]
I may be your wife,
But I won’t be anymore after what I’ve seen!

[Emory Wilson:]

You know this was originally intended to be my sword, Emory.
Now put your gun down and duel me, fair and square.

I don’t respect you enough to duel you.

Nobility and Betrayal

Since Nathan Hexicon committed the irresponsible crime of touching the Diamond of Life, we have all been living in fear. Not just those of us here in Adenrend either. Indeed, Hexicon took off to North America to find and kill as many magical people as he can.

Since Nathan Hexicon got his hands on the Diamond of Life, all of us have been living in fear.
But, sadly, not all of us are still living.
Our house is so empty now.
Death overshadows everything.

The Eclipse (Prelude)

Zacharias needed a ride back home to the Netherlands, so Becky took him on her dragon. Needless to say, there's a lot of danger to be found in trusting strangers so quickly.

Vocals:
[Zacharias McCab:]
I’m still surprised you actually ferried me all the way over here to the Netherlands.
Y’know, it almost makes me feel bad for what’s going on here.

[Becky Walker:]
What’s that supposed to mean?

[Zacharias McCab:]
I feel like you should’ve caught on by now… I mean-

[Emory Wilson:]
Oh, good!
You’ve finally made it happen, Zacharias.

[Becky Walker:]
Uh… is this your dad or something?

[Emory Wilson:]
If only, magic-lightning.

[Becky Walker:]
Okay, hold on now, no need to point a gun at me, I promise.
I was just helping Zacharias get back home-

[Emory Wilson:]
And you have!
Now, I get to achieve my goal of ending your life,
And taking your magic.

Mixed Morals

After Jaden was murdered by Hexicon, Becky has been deep in grief, and she's convinced herself that she's the only one grieving. Will she ever learn that different people care in different ways?

Vocals:
[Becky Walker:]
Forget it. You don’t even care that he’s dead.

[Rowan Bark:]
Becky, you know I care about Jaden.

[Becky Walker:]
Then why don’t you show it?!

A Baseless Conclusion

After becoming acquainted with Zacharias over lunch, Becky has an interesting insight to share with him... about himself.

Vocals:
[Zacharias McCab:]
Why didn’t you just report me for stealing?

[Becky Walker:]
Because it’s never too late to do the right thing.


[Zacharias McCab:]
Never say “never.”
Because it’s already too late for some people.

[Becky Walker:]
Well, you put that can of soup back, didn’t you?
So it wasn’t too late for you, Zacharias.

Never Too Late

Becky has left Rowan behind, so she can spend some alone time thinking. That's when she spots a stranger stealing from the local convenience store.

Vocals:
[Becky Walker:]
As long as your message thrives in this world,
You will outshine the eclipse of death.

[Zacharias McCab:]
Who are you talking to?

[Becky Walker:]
Are you stealing?
Put that back.

[Zacharias McCab:]
Why do you care?
It’s my lunch.

[Becky Walker:]
If you’re so hungry,
Then I’ll take you to eat.

Outshining

Unfortunately, not everyone respected the Diamond from a distance. One fatal crime committed by Nathan Hexicon would shift the whole magic ecosystem and ultimately lead to a dystopian world. Because once Hexicon touched the Diamond, its incredible power became all that he craved and more... He seized the mighty gem and relished in its sheer power for a moment. But that moment passed before long, and the judicious one’s fear was soon realized; magic-life would be abused by the human who wielded it.

Vocals:
[Crys Merganser:]
You, scholar, should know that magic-life was bestowed to the Diamond
Because the judicious one feared its potential for abuse by a human.

[Nathan Hexicon:]
I already know the original doctrine, Crystal,
And that is why The Diamond of Life might become… mine.

Gravity of a Crime

Becky meets yet another new face on her way out. His name is Kamil, and he's curious if he can get a ride to America. She figures it wouldn't be out of her way, so she agrees to take him. But just as they're about to take off on Becky's dragon, Zacharias makes one final effort to say his peace.

Is this your dragon?

This is so cool, dude.
Do you think you could… take me to North America?

[Zacharias McCab:]
Wait! Becky!
Before you go…
I just wanted one last thing.

[Becky Walker:]
You… want something?

[Zacharias McCab:]
I wanted to say that, you showed me the truth.
It’s never too late to do the right thing.

[Becky Walker:]
Well, I’m glad to know that, Zacharias.
I guess I was right…
Maybe I can change, too.
Hey, let’s go back to America now.
I have some apologies to make back home.

Why would I change…
When I already have everything?

Change

While Maya begrudgingly lets go of Zacharias after defeating Emory, Zacharias must ponder the true nature of "letting go" as Becky goes to leave.

Vocals:
[Maya Lockett:]
Now, let her go, magic-vegetation,
Or you’ll be dead next.

[Becky Walker:]
Don’t hurt Zacharias.
He let me go,
So leave him alone.
…
Uh, do you need a ride back to America?

[Zacharias McCab:]
I-... no, I don’t. I actually do live here.
I’m sorry for all the trouble I caused.

[Becky Walker:]
Hey, man, it’s never too late to do the right thing.

Letting Go

After all that's been resolved, this farewell still isn't the real ending. What's happened to Rowan, Becky's friend who she left alone in America? There is still a lot to discover, but that is for another time. Next stop, The Diamond of Life (Part 2).
