The title track is also the most ambitious tune of the album in its scope.
The rhythms, sounds, and vocals here belong to the southern shore of the Mediterranean. An epic relentless crescendo, a single voice slowly morphing into a collective exclamation. Berber shouts, saturation, handclaps, a groove like a tidal wave getting ready to crash onto the shore.

'Carrier Track' is the second album from Stress Assassin, one of Sweden's most distinguished dub producers. His debut album, 'Within the office of eye and ear' from last year, was a huge success and received great reviews everywhere. The Swedish music magazine, 'Groove' even claimed it to be 'one of the best albums of the year! Stress Assassin is Henrik Jonsson, a dedicated graffiti artist and a collector of 70's dub records. Henrik has a broad artistic background: He has been studying in an art academy for three years, played in various bands and simultaneously participated in many exhibitions. Additionally, he has performed on open stages for expressionistic art, combining music and visual arts with parties. On 'Carrier Track' Henrik takes us on a journey down the dirty, dusty roads of dub, through lush, vast ambient landscapes to downbeat grooves from the Scandinavian shores.

In a politically divided time it’s hard to imagine a band comprised of members from across Europe and the Levant as not being inherently progressive. The Turbans, whose self-titled debut album will be released on April 6th (Six Degrees Records), features musicians with roots in Turkey, Bulgaria, Israel, Iran, Greece, Spain, and England. Yet transmitting a political message was not their initial impulse. It was simply music. 

And friendship, as it turns out. Oshan Mahony, the “seventh best guitar player in the band” he says with a laugh—the core group is seven members—met violinist Darius Luke Thompson in Kathmandu. The half-Iranian, half-British nomads immediately hit it off. They began busking throughout India, picking up musicians along their journey.

Seven years later The Turbans delivers to global audiences the same high-energy blend of Balkan, klezmer, Gypsy, and sundry other styles they’ve been bringing to venues around the world for years—India, Hong Kong, the Middle East, and all throughout Europe and North America.
