She sang all the while: I am collecting the potion for Stepan
In order him to be strong until the end of the age and to defeat all the enemies

And when she went to the valley - she saw Cossacks
Everyone coming home to Nenka (homeland) in a big crowd
Oh, you guys, oh dear fellows, how happy I am to meet you
Where is my beloved Stepan? I would love to meet him

Oh, we don't know dear - dear, we didn't follow
He must have remained somewhere - we did not notice
The sweet girl burst into tears and went home
“Where have you gone, my Stepan, oh, I love you to death

Oh, you dear fellows, if only you all would come back homeland
Let all the enemies disappear" - the sweet girl moaned..
And when she went to the yard - Stepan was waiting there,
He joyfully met his beloved girl

THE COLLABORATION
This X6402 Collaboration is with 'TaNezha'  (Tetyana Nizhynska) who is a singer based in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The lyrics were written and sung by TaNezHa, a capella, in the style of a traditional Folk song. 'Six Four Zero Two' created the music, responding emotionally to the story and mood: "I wanted the music to soar and weave fluidly around the constant that is the voice".

THE TRACK
‘Stepan’ is a story about the strength of a young girl whose partner goes off to war and is lost for some time. When the people eventually gather to hail the Cossacks triumphant return, he is not with them. The girl is forlorn and returns home where, she finds him waiting in the courtyard. A joyful return to love, peace and their homeland.
