A piece inspired by the alternate tunings and guitar drumming/tapping techniques of Michael Hedges and Preston Reed, it attempts to transfer those playing styles to the electric guitar. A dark, deep groove.

This piece was inspired by the work of Drogheda artist, Vivienne Byrne. I worked with Byrne in 2014 on a collaborative audio-visual piece, 'water reflector'. It was from this experience that I started writing music in direct response to visual art. 

In 2015, I was once again drawn again to Vivienne's work through a series of her pencil drawings. I was not only influenced by the drawing but also by its title. This composition is an attempt at a musical recreation of the wonderful artwork and I hope its dedication to the original artist will forgive the theft of its title!
