I'm not even gonna front. The first Schnuffel remix did exceptionally well and this tune was almost identical to the Snuggle Song. So, I opened up the old project, inserted this song in place of the Snuggle Song, moved things around and changed the key and here we are!

I Can't Stop (Sixtroke Edit)

Corneria, fourth planet of the Lylat system. The evil Andross turned this once thriving system into a wasteland of near extinction. General Pepper of the Cornerian army was successful in exiling this maniacal scientist to the barren, deserted planet Venom. Five years later, General Pepper noticed strange activity coming from Venom. James McCloud, Pigma Dengar, and Peppy Hare of the Star Fox team were sent to investigate. Upon their arrival, Pigma betrayed the team and James and Peppy were captured by Andross. Peppy barely escaped Venom and returned home to tell James’ son Fox about his father’s fate. A few years have passed. Andross has again invaded the Lylat system. General Pepper has turned to a new Star Fox team headed by Fox McCloud to save Corneria and to free the Lylat system once again.

Me and @SUTHL sat down to flip this one after he said, "this would make for a great remixed dance tune." He was right, except changing a 6/8 ballad into a 4/4 dance tune was a little more challenging than we anticipated. Enjoy!

Sixtroke - S3X SL4V3 is a release on the "Sampler Platter: 20 years of Midnight Snacks" compilation celebrating 20 years of the Midnight Snacks radio show!

"The story behind S3X SL4V3 is a strange one. In 2018 I released a Bootleg remix of a song with a similar name. Snacks played it on his radio show and tagged the original two artists featured on the track. The smaller of the two artist’s management emailed Snacks to say “hey, that was a super cool remix where can we find that?”

Snacks handed over the link and I was immediately hit with a takedown notice. This absolutely didn’t sit right with either of us. Eventually, the story was shared on the subreddit of the second larger artist and that artist actually said “Fuck that person, they’re a nobody. You’re good”

This version of that bootleg is essentially the same except it’s mixed and mastered better, hits harder and contains no elements of the original track. The vocals were done by me. This for all intents and purposes is a cover of that song. Copyright strike me now, * * * * Records"

This is one of my favourite songs ever... I remember hearing it at their live debut in Toronto before it was released and I was so intrigued by it. When releasing Shinjuku Love Letter, I tried to strike a more serious/nostalgic tone that was a reflection of my own artistry. With this project I'm trying to take a more fun, light hearted, creative approach. My other goal with this EP was to try to source samples that you wouldn't expect to hear sampled in Future Funk/House. I hope you enjoy!

I tried to keep the spirit of the original in this remix, but give it that 2021 underground URL music vibe with the big heavy kicks, vocal samples and Speed House drop. I really tried thinking outside the box while retaining that Sixtroke energy I like to give my Rave Tool type beats. Even though my remix didn't win, I'll release a download. I hope you enjoy! ✨
