Tiefenentspannt und gemütlich im Herbst angekommen, drehen wir heute unsere Runde mit Jasmin alias Pokka aus Leipzig. 

Sie lebt mittlerweile seit ca. 4 Jahren in der pulsierenden, von Diversität und Kreativität geprägten Stadt. Im So&so begann ihre DJ-Laufbahn―ein Ort, den die Leipziger Club-Landschaft heute leider vermissen muss. Jedoch wirkte sie ebenfalls in weiteren Bereichen der Club- und Festivalszene mit und bespielte auch bereits die Dancefloors einiger Open Air Veranstaltungen. Leicht wehmütig denken wir daher an das Event des Verbund Leipziger Kollektive (VAK) diesen Sommer zurück, währenddessen ein Teil unserer Crew die Freude hatte, sie kennen zu lernen. Seit kurzem ist sie nun auch selbst Teil des VAKs―ein Kollektiv, welches sich in der Leipziger Feierkultur vor allem durch seine waghalsigen Entwürfe von Utopien innerhalb unkommerzieller Räume einen Namen gemacht hat.

Passend hierzu hat sie ein Titelfoto für ihren Mix für uns gewählt, welches auf dem Nation of Gondwana Festival dieses Jahr entstanden ist. Wie sie beschreibt, fängt dieses das einzigartige Gefühl ein, endlich wieder ein Teil alternativer Welten werden zu können, die sich nach so langer Pause über eine besonders ausgelassene Energie entladen.

Musikalisch glänzt Pokka mit sehr unterschiedlichen Stilrichtungen: Von Downtempo über Hip Hop, Trip Hop, bis hin zu organisch-ethnischen Klängen ist alles dabei. Wichtig ist ihr dabei vor allem, dass der schwierige Spagat zwischen „deep-dark“, „gefühlvoll“ aber „nicht zu cheesy“ gelingt.

Gelungen, würden wir sagen! Ihr Set passt gerade perfekt in unsere Reihe―verspielt, gefühlvoll und dennoch gelassen, genau wie der leicht wehmütige Abschied aus dem Sommer.

Mother is the best but sometimes she is also annoying. Do this, do that! Who doesn't know that!? The other day she surprised me again.  I came to visit, rang the doorbell once, twice, and after the third time and what felt like an eternity she opened the door. Little beads of sweat were visible on her forehead and her slightly red cheeks. What is that music playing in the background? 

"This is the third time I've heard that mix!" she replied and immediately started moving to the music again.
