Founded in 1995 Renegade Hardware has been at the forefront of pioneering the techstep and neurofunk sound and is regarded as one of the most influential labels in Drum & Bass.

With a history expanding almost 30 years, the label was the gateway to some of the scenes leading artists of today, such as Loxy & Ink, Chase & Status, Friction, Noisia, Spor, Audio, Phace, Calyx & Teebee, Konflict, Prolix, to name a few, gracing its historic back catalogue.

In 2016, after more than two decades at the forefront of the scene, Renegade Hardware announced its closure. The label's final chapter was marked by a series of releases and farewell events that brought together fans, artists, and industry insiders to pay tribute to its legacy. 

Fast forward to the present, and with a complete reshape, Renegade Hardware returns with the highly anticipated remix album “From The Vaults”, which features an eclectic mix of future artists who have reimagined some of the most iconic tracks from Renegade Hardware's historic back catalogue.

Over two decades since its release, Konflict’s ‘Messiah’ continues to be celebrated as a Drum & Bass classic and is widely regarded as one of the greatest tracks ever written within the Drum & Bass realm. Only 2 artists have had the honour to remix this track - Noisia & Spor. Now, the Anglo-Russian duo Magnetude takes up the mantle, presenting their eagerly anticipated remix that takes listeners on an electrifying adventure. While paying homage to Konflict's original brilliance, Magnetude infuse their unmistakable, high-octane dancefloor energy and signature call-and-response dynamics, breathing new life into this timeless masterpiece.

Deep within the earth inside of a burrow that lay beneath a fetid swamp rested a creature tasked with putrescent rebirth, the horrifying beauty that sprouted forth from rot & decay. The milky ochre color of its hide was covered in a thin layer of mucus that, were there light in its subterranean lair, would glisten and shimmer as the creature slithered throughout the earth. The guttural grunts produced by the creature's hulking form echoed forth with a distinctly wet accent, squelching forth from between its mandibles as though mud beneath the tread of a boot. 

Indeed, though mud had the creature begun to burrow, filter-feeding upon the microorganisms and decaying plant matter that seeped through the soil. It had been awakened, for the first time in many centuries, by the hunger that drove it to serve in the divine duty that had been bestowed upon it a millennia ago. As it had slept, that which lived above had languished beneath the sun’s rays and grown decadent, thus ladening itself with the first stage of decay. The sweetest, ripest fruit was, after all, always the one closest to becoming rotten, and so was the fate of all living things in due time. The beast had consumed a wide variety of such rotten beings in its time - trees that had grown too tall, beasts that had grown too fat, fungi that had spread their spores too wide. To the grub’s all-consumptive hunger, the makeup of its meal mattered not. All dissolved equally within its many-chambered digestive system. Thus, as it broke through the surface earth that had lain above it for so long, the visions of steel and pink-fleshed creatures that greeted the creature gave it no hesitation. Through hunger, it had been called, and thus it would consume once more, that life may again be born anew where rot had begun to set in.

MOB TACTICS return to EATBRAIN and present DIRTGRUB // DUBBLE BUBBLE, their latest monstrous single filled with squelching sonics sure to set the myriad members of the EATBRAIN horde squirming on the dancefloor.

The artist scurried through the underbelly of the great megalopolis he called home with practiced ease, weaving through underpasses, alleyways, and densely packed streetsides alike as he journeyed back to a locale he had noticed in brief passing some days before. Its aging brick facade had stood out to him, forgotten amidst the forest of steel and glass that shadowed the alleyway in which it lay. Upon surface materials such as those, the pigments he would use to ply his trade were necessarily chemical in nature, a concoction specifically brewed to cling to such sleek, smooth surfaces. Brick, by contrast, was a rarity. Its porous and often deeply weathered surface allowed for all manner of ancient organic pigments to be used to mark its surface, and as such the artist treated the mortared canvas now before him with a ritualistic reverence. 

Drawing a long thin blade from within his backpack, the artist ran its delicate edge down the length of his left arm, letting the most vital of pigments well up through the thin fissure upon his skin. Then exchanging blade for brush he began his work, bringing life to his newest canvas with the energies of his own.
