Long time Transparent Audio family member, Yannons really switches the vibe of Feirce’s ‘Without Me’ from a beautiful liquid track to a deep dancefloor roller! Groningen-based drum and bass beatsmith Yannons, the beauty of music lies in its ability to express feelings that are otherwise impossible to convey. Hailing from a city that boasts an immense nightlife, and has in return produced a plethora of drum and bass talent, Yannons cites heavy influence from fellow Groningen-born artists such as Fre4knc, Ordure, and the legendary trio Noisia. 

Through soundwaves defined by atmosphere, vehemence, and 170BPM-fuelled energy, the Dutch producer consistently curates dancefloor-ready, yet genuinely personal music that encapsulates the techy brilliance of the stripped-back drum and bass sound. His collation of heavy subs, snappy snares, and gritty, yet refined sound design acts as his outlet for emotions and feelings, especially those that are difficult in revealing to the world. It's not only this ethos that fills Yannons with purpose, but in fact, it's gone on to shape his signature deep, dark, and emotive sound. 

Although dancefloor-orientated, themes of loneliness, self-doubt, dystopia, connection, and solidarity flow through the veins of Yannons' music. From learning to DJ at 16, running his own event in the form of 'Bassface', and even making music for six years prior to his first release, the Dutch producer is now going from strength to strength, with releases on Strictly Deep DnB and Transparent Audio soon to be followed with appearances on EKOU Recordings and Context Audio. 

"“It was super cool to have the opportunity to transform a very deep and melodious track into something more dark and techy. The original gave me a lot of melodic elements to shape the track into the somewhat haunted and creepy vibe, only to switch it up with funky bass sounds on the drop. 

It’s been amazing to work with Transparent Audio ever since the start. It is been amazing how much trust has been put into all artists to be free to create the music we want to create, knowing there will always be a place on the label for us. The label pushes us to work together with other artists on the label and it’s truly become a family to me.” (Yannons)

Lifestyle Music returns with a two-part single, this time representing the sounds of Mean Teeth featuring collaborations with Kerizma MC and Skylark. The Mean Teeth duo reigning from Estonia and Lithuania are a name making serious waves in the Drum & Bass scene, seeing recent releases on Renegade Hardware and Bad Taste to name a few. For this release they’ve teamed up with British Kerizma MC for Gutterfunk, and young French production prodigy Skylark for Hydra.
 
The first track up ‘Gutterfunk’ backed up by the host from the UK’s South Coast ‘Kerizma MC’, sets the tone for the start of the single. Brighton’s own brings the fire on the vocals, whilst the collab smashes the airwaves with deep burly bass and hard-hitting drums; these guys really are firing a weapon. The break then takes you to another dimension, all while maintaining the dark vibe of this masterpiece, before taking you for another ride - lock, stock and two smoking barrels.
