this is a set series with 5 parts which moves slowly into the minimalistic corner of electronic music. this corner fascinates and interests me for quite some time now, so it is time for a tribute. 

the series will start in downtempo, then moves over to some bouncyness, continues in melodic minimal, goes on to electronica and finally ends in ambient. so this is a multigenre approach, with a red line of sound aesthetics. 

all sets but part 2 are made in ableton to achieve ultimate flow.
sets appear every month on the second monday.

into minimalism

For me the first step in making a podcast is to find a feeling or topic I want to express. 
When it is scientific I read and watch videos for preparation. Some of the latter I may also use in the podcast afterwards. After my research I try to find songs and sounds whose emotions embody the topic most perfectly. Finally I align all elements like a painter would assemble a collage.

If you want to understand a podcast the way i do it, it is advisable to read it´s description. 
Like this one, it might be interesting and will lead you into my thoughts.
If you take yourself time and really listen to it, you also may feel what I feel.

Today is my birthday and therefore i brought a little present with me :)
I made this track a few years ago so it might sound a bit dusty around the corners haha

I wanted to share this anyway, because of 2 reasons:
1. it´s a happy track which dont come around that often.
2. this will be the last possible moment to get that moose out..

I am currently working on a new sound and my first live set :)))
This is a huge thing for me, and i am already excited too see if y´all like it!
Anyway, the moose wont fit there anymore so im squeezing this out now.

It's about time again, our eighth compilation finally sees the light of day. It is peppered with wonderful pearls from the most diverse styles of the downtempo coast and, as always, is intended to reflect the variety of our favorite genre.

Again, we tried to find the right mix between friends who have been with us for a long time and have been shaping the downtempo scene for years, paired with a large number of newcomers who convinced us with their sound quality and approach to production.

The compilation was mastered by our engineer of trust Haunted Water and the signature artwork was contributed as always by Kilian Van De Water. Enjoy listening.

03 what it´s about

Carlos Pulsar & Nada’s world is a wild place to visit, but this time they welcome a whole new team to put their own touch to it.

Thus, Nâhrwerk and their bouncy vibe adds an unexpected groove to the dark, yet trippy « Cane » while skarú takes care of « La Reina » by entertaining her with all the playful sounds he is known for.

Finally, the entire rebuild of « Te » by luçïd and his famed attention to details amplifies the experience of the original journey.

04 last tethers to rhythm

The EP title 'corners' metaphorically symbolizes the diverse styles through which aal presents the variability of downtempo in four distinct tracks. These tracks draw inspiration from various elements of acoustic music, ranging from jazz in 'Yorck's Schlösschen' (a nod to the jazz club in Berlin) to orchestral hip-hop in 'Swinemünde.' The two remixes provide an additional layer of depth to the EP's main track, ‚sleepy owl,' offering darker or faster interpretations.

Dear all,

we have joined here in musical and lyrical form to express our support for all activists of the ZAD fighting for their home and the inspiring ideas that it represents, defending themselves against violence and oppression. This podcast, however, has not been created working directly with them.
It is best to be seen as an encouragement to anyone reading/hearing this for learning about one of the longest, most beautiful struggles in the recent history of French social movements, as an attempt to raise awareness and support and an act of solidarity. 
In the hopes for the current eviction attempts to fail. Against the airport and its world.

SKARÚ ft. Kraatz - la Zad

In celebration of the world environment day and all musicians that I admire I give you my all time classic collection of songs as a sound-journey through the 5 elements: Ether (dark matter), Fire, Water, Earth and Air. The order of the elements is related to the earth's history and starts therefore with the Big Bang (ether) which made a fire ball (fire). The subsequently rain (water) cooled down the planet whereby ground (earth) was able to arise. The creatures of the country conquered the sky (Air) very soon and only one genus of mammals was able to make it back to the space (Ether).
