There's tension as well as calming elements to this piece, a symphony of sounds swirling and moving with an undertone of darkness. The textures are dirty and raw at times whilst smoothed by bright angelic tones. Enjoy, Thanks

Melancholia In Motion

This again uses bird song for synthesis manipulation, triggering and sampling. The bird song used in this track is recorded and produced by Marc Anderson ; Wild Ambience ; wildambience.com  soundcloud.com/wildambience. I chose the Australian birdsong due to its colourful and wonderous sounds. My earlier track 'Ginger Beer' was produced under the same technique yet using Brittish bird song. Thanks for listening.

A relaxed acoustic composition with manipulation and layering. This really is a fine tuned jam session that came together at the one point of time. There are areas I would like to replay, areas that I would like to re compose but I was in fear of either overworking or indeed destroying the track so I left it the way it was. Gav (Skcollob).

The piano is a very interesting instrument to mix, very testing, infact within this production iam aware the piano could be bettermixed, but, for the life of me I couldnt 'find' or capture it within this piece. Clubbing Bunnies is an interesting correlation between two societies and cultures, Food or Fear. Within our society it is 'horrific' to think of clubbing a fluffy bunny to death, whilst in others it is a humane way of putting food on the table for the family. Infact more humane than our own societies many farming and food producing techniques. Within the music melodic tones and movements move with dark ones attempting to convey this double interpretation, celebration of food hunted, or demonic slaughter. 

Clubbing Bunnies

This song always makes me think of a sea bird hovering in the wind over the ocean and cliffs, relaxed but alert and very much in a state of awareness of its surroundings.
Im pleased with the guitar composition and playing but appreciate that there is a little spill over of the breathing, plus I struggled with the ending. Enjoy, or not.

Sea Bird

This started as a remix of the track 'Liberty' (Skcollob) by KaolinKit (@kaolinkit) and ended up being bounced back and forth between us with the track resulting into what it is now. Although it doesnt exactly match KaolinKit's original interpretation and remix it does however carry forward a lot of his ideas.

Vlei is an acoustic guitar piece I wrote and recorded via Direct Input into Logic on a Gibson J45 acoustic guitar. DI is an interesting way to record but it leaves no prisoners as every little detail is picked up, it calls for immaculate playing and dynamics and I dont know if I achieved that. However Im still happy with the finished product, knowing also that it isnt perfect.

"Relapse" attempts to express a breakdown, trauma and chaotic downfall caused by returning to a drug addiction after many years of abstinence. "Relapse" began with Duncan playing the Loutar (A Moroccan stringed instrument) and then putting words to the composition.  In order to capture this idea we recorded it simply on the zoom H4n, after I'd  recorded Duncan I began the arrangement and augmentation, keeping it within context and style of the original intent and meaning. I like the tones within this piece, the diversity of sonic inputs and their roles, the heartfelt lyrics and also the way that this piece came to be from idea to end. It attempts to be nothing else. Each time I listened to my answer machine messages I smiled at the diversity of messages left and their collective strangeness. It began with the idea to use those messages as an intro, the musical composition aimed to further that diversity and emulate the uniqueness and bizarity.

Telephone Message

This track began when I captured a vocal recording of Duncan(from the band Little Bohemia)speaking about having played a gig without their basist Jason. From this point on I decided to manipulate, stretch and experiment with different audio engineering designs, exploring sound envelopes, space and frequencies. It didnt stop there as I added acoustic guitar and other studio made sounds, sounds that originated from the most bizarre musical instruments that I have in my studio. This is not a 'song' but a real experimental project provoking the mind and ears. It serves, for me at least, a memory of the night when Little Bohemia played at the Cavern in Exeter. A night spent with friends, musicians and creative beings.

Here I wanted to give the feeling of change within time and environment. The beginning of the track tries to emulate the movement from one space to another, followed by the shift of daytime to night time, all wrapped up in a bubble of soothing chinnese influence and ambience.

This started as an acoustic piece with elements of 'Adele Someone like you' . Just for the point of creativity I asked Duncan if he would sing the lyrics. As it turned out he created his own lyrics and we diverted away from creating a version of Adele, Someone like you, Rather we went with the flow and it worked so we then made many changes to detract it from Adele. But that isnt to say that there arnt traces of her song in this song. One thing we'd like to point out is that we havnt purposefully tried to copy from Adele, nor hide the fact that elements of her song exist within this track. Thanks

A guitar fusion building horizontally, Bring out the air guitar. What I liked about this when I made the track is how it makes me move, I love it. A new for me, producing a rock track.

Guitar Heroin

Here Aaron Heaton performs a cover of Black Keys, Lonely Boy. Whats worth noting is that he has never recorded before and in his words he's 'rusty' due to not having played lately. Well if thats rusty then Im looking forward to doing more work with Aaron because I love his voice tonality and playing.Recorded, mixed and mastered at Smokey Studios by me Skcollob and on my Gibson J45 Acoustic guitar using AKG 414 microphones on the guitar and vocals. We only recorded this take as experimental but the finished mix (although not perfect) stands as a nice piece of work and highlights the amazing voice of Aaron and his great rythmic guitar playing.

Travelling Man, is not a perfect mix. Playing the Gibson J45 with finger nails and Direct Input has proven to have far too much attack. I did revist the early mix to soften but was unable and came to the realization that I would need to re record. I chose not to take that route as I played most of the guitar improvisionally. Theres still alot of merit to this track even with the flaws mentioned, and with that in mind I uploaded but have full awareness of some mixing issues.

It began as a traditional world tune but as ever I always seem to get distracted. All of my tunes are ever evolving within the making, theres never really a set plan. My DJing was the same. Jammin' At Smokey's (9:8:18)

In this track I wanted to explore and expand the relationship between bass and kick, contrasted with sonic elements that punch and weave their way in and out. Everythings about what you know, but twisted, stretched and expanded.

Rhythm

An interesting blend of experimental, orchestral and psychill. A transistion of musical resonance. Ruben Vera (aka Rumble Bass) assisted with this production.

"Expanded Resonance" (Feat.R.Vera[10/9/12]Master2)

Mechanical Embodiment arose from synthesised manipulation into a downtempo hooky trance element. It reminds me of raving early hours of a monday morning, 4 days in, staring at the ground, weakly shuffling but addicted to the sound and unable to leave. I chose the name in reflection to the grudgery and treadmill monotony of the 'modern world', our slavery and addiction to our daily rhythms. Original composition and prod' by G Beed (Skcollob). Mechanical Embodiment

This was an interesting project, it took 5 months and 18 different takes on it before I became happy with the intensity and frequency of the composition. I collaborated with Tommy Styhlz {Pink} [Vocals and initial demo] Toronto, Canada. His initial take on this was called 'A Kiss', my interpretation, arrangement and composition evolved into the translation of the torture and insanity and anger of deep loves departure. I requisitioned further lyrics from Tommy's excellent vocals and built further into this idea. im happy with the intention and creative development of this piece. P.S Both Tommy and I duely respect and admire women and the context of the lyrics within this song only try to portray  torn emotions. 

A Love Song [Feat.Tommy.Styhlz.Vocals]

This track uses bird recordings (zoomH4n) from my back yard. These recordings were then manipulated by FX and Synthesis whilst being used as triggers for synthesis also. The reason why I chose the birds for this project was in order to experiment with the bird song, in order to study it and find out if there were any patterns to the rythym. I was also interested to see sampling and synthesis applied to the bird song as i was looking for original sources of sound. My findings for this is that each bird is as original and individual as you and I.

Not a fan of music that fits so concisely into genere boxes and not a fan of ego or financial greed.
I am a fan of passion, beat, ryhthm, change, and dynamics and I find that I am drawn to those pieces of music that are born with these elements at their heart, not by the feckin rule book.
