It's a pleasure to preview the deep and soulful sounds of "Oh Mar" by Alma Negra. A brand new cut from the forthcoming 'Two Tribes Volume Two' compilation on Agogo Records. 

Alma Negra is a DJ collective & live band based in Basel, Switzerland. Two members have roots in Cape Verde and bring its rich musical history into the mix. 

They have released music on labels such as Heist Recordings, Sofrito, Basic Fingers, Highlife, Lumberjacks in Hell and have formed their own Alma Negra-imprint as well. They hold a DJ residency at Switzerland's most famous jazz and music club 'Moods' in Zürich.

'Two Tribes Volume Two' is an intercontinental journey in rhythm, compiled by Ubbo Gronewold and Tobi Kirsch

Ubbo and Tobi tell us, "Not long after the release of Two Tribes Vol. 1 we realized that our journey had only just begun and lots of stories still had to be told. Motivated by lots of positive response we soon put to work researching and compiling music for what you are holding in your hands right now. We put our emphasis on expanding to other European regions and on including different countries than on Vol. 1 and we also wanted to give it a bit of a different musical twist. 

The result are 14 tracks covering what we consider a broad and diverse spectrum but still clinging to our initial idea of building a musical bridge between the continents Africa and Europe. The immense cultural diversity of both is represented by newcomers alongside more well-known names, both of which have a strong connection to the rich musical traditions of Africa. 

On board are African artists living in diaspora on equal footing with Europeans that incorporate their high affinity to the African continent into their music. Exciting outernational collaborations round off the selection for Vol. 2."

"Oh Mar" is released on Monday July 19th, ahead of the full compilation, 'Two Tribes Volume Two'.

The third release on 18437 features one of UK’s finest producers and DJs, Mark E.

While many struggle to find their sound or try to reinvent themselves Mark keeps on doing what he does best, deep and atmospheric house music, full of synth pads and warm chords. It’s never been about fast tempos or high energy with Mark, each track is good enough to stand on its own. Patrice Scott, who always brings a huge amount of passion and soul into his music, provided a remix of Rain that’s beautiful. Excellent late night listening music.

This man is truly a hard worker in music production. His friends complain that he can’t stop writing new music even at their home parties, where all girls go wild when they hear signature Gronery style. No surprise, because Artem has been making music for more than 10 years now. Starting with making beats on legendary eJay DAW in the ghetto of Krasnoyarsk (Siberia, Russia) he studied on his own what groove is. Being in progress, using new hardware such as MPC and synths Artem started his experiments with electronic music. After moving to Moscow Gronery crystallized his own sound and all boundaries between styles were finally erased. Now he is more into making fat hip-hop beats, super dope deep & tech house.

Segment EP it’s practically an album of selected tracks, which were written in the last 3 years. We collected significant part of club ready bombs from Artem’s Ableton projects for your prime time gigs plus added super heavy remix from DJ Max (Sergei Timoshenko, art-director of legendary Propaganda Moscow Club) to wrap up this release finally. Here you have 7 tracks with unique deep & tech flow with some acid influence and samples of porn-stars interviews before they got banged. Be careful And obey Gronery now!

A beautiful debut from Parisien duo Mt. Rave on France's Slowciety backed by strong remixes from Map.ache, Opal Sunn and Marlon Hoffstadt. 'Temple III' is a meandering slow burner of a track slowly crafting the world and atmosphere it inhabits. Taking nearly 3 minutes before dropping into its main section of relaxing glacial synth droplets and pulsing chords. We're excited to hear more from them.
