Le 6 février 2015, l'association MAPL de Lorient organisait une soirée "Des Jeunes gens mödernes" avec la projection du documentaire éponyme de Jean-François Sanz à la médiathèque de Lorient, et un triple concert au Manège qui réunissait : Strasbourg, Violence conjugale et Jessica 93. 

Cette émission est la version longue, avec chansons complètes et du matériel audio inédit, d'un Lever de rideau consacré à cette soirée sur RCF Sud Bretagne fin février : vous y retrouverez des entretiens avec le documentariste Jean-François Sanz et son monteur Farid Lozès, le duo Violence conjugale et le one-man-band Jessica 93.

Jeunes gens mödernes à Lorient

Deadlight District is a cold, instrumental descent into a war-ravaged Russian financial zone. It opens with glitched Soviet tones and a slow, distorted kick—like distant shellfire in concrete canyons. Metallic synths rise like broken sirens, layered over industrial rhythms that echo malfunctioning escalators and flickering LED tickers. Midway, detuned piano and ghostly pads evoke the hollow grandeur of abandoned boardrooms and shattered wealth. The climax erupts in glitchy breakbeats and collapsing sonic architecture. It fades into a low-frequency hum and the whistle of wind through broken glass. Stark, cinematic, and unforgiving.

‘Delirium’ was the fifth LP from cult psych/post-punk outfit The Underground Youth, who formed in 2008 and are currently based in Berlin. Originally released in 2011 London-based imprint Fuzz Club are reflecting on the bands extensive back-catalogue and repressing the 12” with a brand new CD reissue. ’Delirium’ harks back to The Underground Youth’s earlier psychedelic sound, offering minimalistic and bluesy psychedelia at its best. The album is an unapologetic ode to Craig’s musical heroes, dining on an influence from the likes of Spacemen 3, The Velvet Underground and BJM in its haunting psych instrumentals and beautifully crafted vocals and lyricism that fall somewhere between Bob Dylan and Ian Curtis.
