Ukraine has a lot on it's plate at the moment, but that certainly has not and will not stop them. They are a proud, tough and resilient people and we offer them our full support. One such Ukrainian who deserves a bright future is this young producer, ALIEN PERFECT, who is less than 20 years old and is cooking up some of the finest flavours around. We have some absolute heat coming from this bad man in the near future but we start it off right now with this naughtiness to help you through those long nights: 'Insomnia'. On a serious note, this guy is actually trying his best to hold it together, still make beats and survive while the air raid sirens keep going off and missiles fly past - that's no type of life for anyone! M-zine returns to Sofa Sound Bristol with a very special project - his debut album, 'Know When You're Ready'.

It's a milestone moment for an artist whose output has matured, marinated and developed for over a decade to a natural pinaccle. 

M-zine represents everything we love at Sofa Sound and the album is layered with warm textures and organic tones to form a rich body of work with great depth that rewards both your patience and your sound system.

With influences rooted in dub, techno, funk and soul, M-zine embraces the lost art of simplicity and is focused on getting the most out of just 4 or 5 core elements so everything works together nicely in the mix. 

Written mostly during covid; clubs were closed, but M-zine had his rig at home and used the isolation to craft his own little soundscape; something pure and introspective, nice and simple. 

Its subtle, meditative and Sofa Sound through and through - a warm collection of tracks for you to appreciate.

The project's title mirrors Bluejay's laid back approach to writing, aka, writing in countless notebooks to then be shelved and reworked years down the line. Almost a testament to his persistent pursuit of perfection in his own unique way. 

Leaving no stone unturned, the project holds a mirror up to the current state of the musical landscape and serves as a testament to Bluejay's viewpoint and experience after nearly 15 years in the game.
