Ukulele and bass, with drums and samples programmed in LSDJ. Did a little compression and noise removal (really old PC microphone that still works ftw), a teensy bit of EQ. Don't know what I was thinking trying to record each part in a single take...

I really liked the melody of this awesome song by chibi-tech which was unveiled at Blipfest this year, so I learned it just for fun. :)

Made with HivelyTracker. Branching out beyond the Gameboy stuff. I like HivelyTracker because the instrument creation process is similar to that of LSDJ and other "hardware" based sound generators, as opposed to trackers like MilkyTracker and OpenMPT and FTII, etc., that are sample based. 

This is my second tune made with HT, and recorded through my PC's "Stereo Mix". HivelyTracker is based on the AHX format.

Incidentally, HT is great for creating sounds for use in the sample-based trackers. :)

Oh, also, just thought I should note that I stuck with the default channel panning settings (from left to right: LRRL) so it'd sound more .mod-like.

My first HivelyTracker tune, it is based on my first Little Game Park Tracker "experience" (it didn't come to anything that one would call a "tune", hehe). 4 Channels, a bit repetitive, but I think it's pretty cool. The drums are loud, anyway.

Anyway, yeah. HivelyTracker is awesome. 
*update* you can download the source for this and two of my other HT tunes at hivelytracker.co.uk 's "tunes" section. There're lots of great (way better) tracks by other artists, too. Um... there's a hvl/ahx plugin for XMPlay floating around somewhere...

Something a little different. Sometimes I have weird ideas and need an outlet for them. A bit of a heavy dragging tune with a strong beat, done with 1xLSDJ in BGB. Samples ripped from an example song from the Win95 music-making program "SoundClub" by www.Bluemoon.ee.

SoundClub was my first introduction to sample-based music sequencing, and it has some really nice sounds.

I sometimes like to put interesting things in my ki-bass tables.

Tell Me For Real

Epically failed at submitting this to noisechannel.org 's "LSDJ Showdown" because I only exported and uploaded 25 seconds worth of it, LOL *facepalm*. 

Totally a made up word based on the feeling of the tune but it turns out "QRAM" is actually a thing, so let's pretend that's what this is about, hmm?

Also, I've been playing way too much Just Dance 4 lately... >_>

A submission for noisechannel.org 's "LSDJ Showdown". It's pretty vanilla and no limits pushed, but still, I like the vibe. I wanted to go for softer textures in the NOI channel with this one, and used a whole lot of Exx commands versus new Instrument Note triggers. 

I wanted to make something that could possibly fit into the soundtrack for the new "SSX" game. Kinda chill, but with a little bit of urgency still. 

Named after "a star" from looooong ago who was very beautiful, courageous, and possibly had ambiguous ethnic features. Also, Myrtle. 

Probably WIP if I ever get back around to it...

Here is a MilkyTracker XM created for the 2013 Battle of the Bits Spring Tracks II major compo, entered under the "48k" category.

This was supposed to be a simple looping "verse-chorus" beat, but then the deadline was extended and I got obsessive... <_< 

Rikki-Tikki is my favorite childhood talking-animal hero, and for some reason this song is named after him. Rikki-Tikki: Ever standing guard, always ready to risk his life for the sake of his family. He only eats half his meals because a full stomach = a slow mongoose, and a slow mongoose = a delicious meal for a cobra.

All sounds created in the sample editor of MilkyTracker from scratch, haha. Check out that wonky waveform :P
