One of my first experiments with Logic (Express, I think) and an iMac. Trying to use the recorder like an instrument.  

Conversations at a Party

Written/Recorded mid-2002.  Just having some Telecaster fun and adding sound effects on the AW16G. I grew up around horses and I thought my parents might like this one.  Makes me think of Saturday morning, waiting on the Indian Head TV test pattern to disappear so that I could watch the Lone Ranger and Tonto. 

Silver Chases The Train

Written/Recorded 2004. Having more fun with effects on the AW16G. As I remember it, the dog barking sound effects were a happy accidental find on the recorder while I was mixing this one. Everyone hears a different story when they listen to this one.  My intent was to create a Zappa kinda vibe.

I Let The Dogs Out

Written/recorded in 2006. So, many hours of listening to the Beatles who I admire so much for their songwriting talent and (along with George Martin) using the studio as an instrument. If you listen close at the beginning (may have to use headphones), you will hear Mick Fleetwood speaking. I used his drum samples on this one and the sample of him speaking was also on the disk. As a side story, I met Mick Fleetwood once in a restaurant. I said hello and he very graciously shook my hand...he is very tall fellow and his hands are huge. I'll bet he kills those drum heads with those giant hands.  What a great musician.  Next time, I am going to ask him to jam! :-)
