Founded in 2009 and going into its 5th year of existence the Hamburg-based label hfn music has evolved into an established name within the field in between the Indie-and club scene.

Thirty releases strong the label has become a firm home for a string of artists and ever since has been keeping an eye out for amazing talent. The results are pretty clear: the great and ever busy Kasper Bjørke has released two excellent albums ('Standing On Top Of Utopia' & 'Fool' ) and a massive remix compilation via hfn music whilst outstanding acts like Darkness Falls, Human Woman and Reptile Youth all debuted with hfn to international acclaim. 

Not to forget the allover success of the label's initial release - Trentemøller's legendary mix compilation 'Harbour Boat Trips 01 - Copenhagen' which still is referred to as all-time favourite from various sides of the musical spectrum. And it is Anders Trentemøller himself who runs the highly successful hfn music sister label In My Room as an exclusive outfit for his very own musical vision.

With this musical backing hfn music's plans are set for 2014 and with the brand new seven track compilation 'dock 1' we are proud to introduce and serve not only selected and exclusive material for your listening pleasure but also our extended hfn music artist roster for the very first time.

Apart from Darkness Falls, Kasper Bjørke and Ebb who are recently working on new albums, we're sending a warm welcome to our new signings and family members Faded Ranger, Fangs, Gry and Small Mountain, which are lined up for forthcoming releases and/or collaborations in the future.

ANCIENT FUTURE RECORDS shares its first outing through the incarnation of the KILUNGA EP.  Facing the future, but remembering all things that have been, we are focussed on the universal presence, the eternal here and now. Four tracks by four artists guide us through this constant state of nowness. First up is FOXDEVILSWILD, whose "Steppenwolf" rides on through endless mystic plains at a leisurely pace. PHILIPP FEIN then carries on with "Cogitatio", a deep reflection that will not only touch our minds, but even more so our bodies. The flipside brings us JOHANNES KLINGEBIEL's muzzy "You", which lulls us into some more enigmatic spheres. The mysterious duo ALMA & MATER eventually kick us back into razor-sharp clearness, by making our minds clap in the most groovy of ways.

Established Finnish artist Jori Hulkkonen is back on home label My Favorite Robot with ‘Don't Believe In Happiness’, another fantastic full length.

Hulkkonen’s last album—of nine so far—came in 2015, with one before that coming in 2012, both on this label. Each one shows him to be a real synth master who can craft devastatingly emotional tracks that are infused with elements of dub, pop, nu-wave and techno. Following the release of the title track as lead single, the full album reveals itself to be another moody but beautiful affair that has evolved stylistically once more.

The icy and churchy chords of ‘Tintån Terdel’ kicks things off, with mid-tempo drums down low making for a brightly lit tune full of feeling. After the single comes ‘We Will Tear Love Apart Again’, a suspense-filled track with no drums but whispered vocals that drift above gentle synth turbulence. More cosmic tinged grooves come from ‘Lowlife Crises,’ while ‘Reach Out to China’ is a celestial affair with glowing chords and ambient smoothness. ’I Think About Your Car When I Drive Mine’ is an inventive track with echoing ‘80s chords and pained vocals above percolating clicks and pops.

The second half of the album journeys through pop leaning tracks with heavenly chords and well sequenced synths; abstract affairs where modulated sounds bring computers to life and then more dance floor orientated tracks like ‘Moon Is Real’ which surges along on a silky, celestial techno groove. ‘Just A Phase I’m Going Through’ is an edgy and energising retro-future pop cut, and the whole absorbing and artistic album comes to an end with the blissful layers of chords, pads and zoned out vocals on ‘New Ideologies.’

This magical album is another subtle development of Hulkkonen’s style that goes way beyond the dance floor and makes for a truly rewarding listen.

Wanderwelle ~ Gathering of the Ancient Spirits [SSV13]

The Amsterdam-based duo Wanderwelle return to Silent Season with their second album. Gathering of the Ancient Spirits is inspired by the last years of the life of Paul Gauguin, which he spent on the islands of French Polynesia. The album tells the alternative history of his search for a land that is untouched by modern society and whose inhabitants were still dependent on the gifts of nature and connected to their ancestors. During his stay, the painter encounters forgotten rituals and the primordial beings which haunt the islands since the dawn of time.

In 2018, it’s exactly 115 years ago that Paul Gauguin passed away. This album is an ode to one of the greatest artists that ever lived.

ik no one is going to read this so i'll tell y'all how I really feel. I have so many things on my plate right now I don't think I can handle anything more. I've never been so stressed in my life. I feel like I need to runaway but I live alone. I have no one left I feel comfortable talking to about my problems, they either don't care or they judge the fuck out of me. I want so desperately to die bc the pain is coming back the dark thoughts are starting to run through my head and once they begin there's nothing stopping them. I really don't want to hurt my family but I am tired and I don't wanna hurt like this anymore. I know that they probably think everything is ok with me but I am so far from okay but I can't have them worrying about me they've got so much to worry about ...I've made terrible decisions that I can't explain why. I feel like everyone in my life is trying to take advantage of me in some way... I want to die ... I hope no one ever feels this way I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I look at myself in the mirror and I hate what I see so I look away. I don't like pictures bc they remind of what no one wants to see not even me.
