Had a go at remixing the Son Lux track Opera Fight. Its pretty twisted. But wow to get your hands on Son Lux material to play with. Wow. I've loved these guys since I first stumbled upon them with At War with the Mazes that they gave away on noisetrade many moons ago. Seeing them grow to what they are now is amazing and deserved.

When I created the David Lynch homage album I had wanted to somehow have lyrics that gave it a Lynchian edge, unsettling prose, or random words but nothing came.

Something that hinted at the backwards talking in Twin Peaks but not using that technique.

I experimented with various vocal synths and vocoder ideas but it all sounded ‘normal’

So I decided it was a fools errand and released the album as an instrumental, and was very happy with it.

Roll into 2023 and I found a way to do it, with a big tip off from Rafter! Thanks Man!

So by not using an AI product correctly I found a way to manipulate music of each track to create a vocal that was purely made from the track it features on.   

Sometimes it gave me a female voice, sometimes male, and sometimes it was an English style voice or American tones. It was dependent on the music it was trying to work with. The more dense music the heavier male voice and the lighter sounds became feminine vocalisations.

I am totally amazed at how incredible it sounds.   The vocals themselves sound like a language you have never heard, and only hearing random words of an overheard conversation.

  I don’t know if you’ve ever listened to people speaking in another language you don’t know and sometimes a word jumps out in your native tongue? Or at least sounds like it is. It’s like that.

Inspired by David Lynch each instrumental track from the album was fed into an AI vocal cleaner over and over until it was forced to create words. Well kind of words... Those then became the vocals for the album

the amazing singer songwriter, musician. Kate Stanton, not about failure but about being kind to yourself. I think we can all do that give yourself a break. we're all special humans.

The Skin Vehicles is, an experimental, electronic, psychedelic twister that is mostly instrumental. The sound is cinematic, ideas twist and turn, this is the music for the film you haven't seen yet. 'Fine Art' in sound.
 
Skin Vehicles is the Musical output of Fine artist Dex Hannon and Writer Dexuality Valentino. Working solo or in collaboration, nothing is the same, because life doesn't work like that. Based in Northern England. He has released 13 albums under Skin Vehicles and also 2 albums under the guise of DVEC with American Collaborator Eunice Cazarez. His music has featured on BBC Radio 3 Late Junction as well as stations internationally.
 
Working in different creative spaces, he allows the music, art and writing to weave through everything he does. Sometimes the art will influence the writing or the music or the music will influence the painting. A lot of the paintings and music bear the same names, feeding each other.
