ockkie, also known as Jock, is a talented producer, DJ, and digital artist hailing from Rotterdam, Netherlands. With roots in Suriname music, jazz, R&B, and electronic music, Jockkie has been heavily influenced by the diverse sounds and styles of his hometown.

Growing up, Jockkie was deeply involved in the music culture of Rotterdam, working at clubs and performing in DJ and B2B gigs in the genres: Latin House, BigRoom and EDM. After 10 years, he discovered his passion for deep melodic hypnotic techno and began producing his own sound.

Therefore he started his own concept:

ATMASVARA

"Atma" refers to the soul or the inner self, while "Svara" means sound or melody. Together, "Atmasvara" signifies the harmonious resonance of the soul, representing the connection between music, spirituality, and nature. With its unique and culturally rich quality.

I started DJing in the early 90s and bought my first Technics 1200 when I was 16. At the right time I was playing in a small club called Grooveclub and we could feel the beginning of the house and techno scene in Germany. Many sleepless nights followed. As a visitor, I traveled through the club scene in Germany and visited clubs like Distillery, Muna, Tresor, Aufschwung Ost, Mach 1 and so on. This inspired me to organize my own small parties as an organizer, booker and manager. At the end of the 90s I gave up my most important hobby, a mistake I later found. In 2016 I started DJing again and I'm looking for the opportunity to perform in a club with 100 to 300 people or a good radio show. At the end of 2020 I started producing a few small tracks and am looking for a label that will give me the chance to show what I can. We'll see what comes next and I'm in good spirits.
