I never know from one second to the next what I'm creating - I don't read or write music so I find myself trusting a mixture of instinct and serendipity, so that, for the most part,the tracks are gradually assembled through a prolonged process of trial and error / give and take. Sometimes they will sit dormant for months and then be picked up again and finished in minutes - sometimes they seem to write themselves in a single session. It's a funny business...

These tracks show the range of what I like to do. If they have one thing in common it's an attempt to create a kind of new world with each piece having an atmosphere of its own. 

As an ex-drummer rhythm is important to me as are off-kilter sounds / tones, a legacy of the first pop song I really remember 'Good Vibrations'- I blame that Wilson bloke and his theremins. 

Other people's work that I admire include Kraftwerk, Delia Debyshire, Eno, Future Sound of London, Autechre : the usual suspects ... in more recent times Jah Wobble's Solaris project was a revelation live and current obsessions are Boards of Canada, Nils Petter Molvaer, Tony Allen and Mulato Astatke.
