Take a flight with me from Johannesburg to Chicago. A Journey into the Heart of Afro & House Music. Originating from the diverse and rich musical landscape of Africa, emerging in the early 1990s, Afro House music can trace its roots back to South Africa's townships, where local DJs and producers started experimenting with new sounds and blending them with local musical styles such as Kwaito, Mbaqanga, and African tribal music. Over time, this fusion evolved into a unique and powerful sound that became synonymous with the vibrant energy of African dance floors. 

While Chicago house music history goes back to 
1977, where DJ Frankie Knuckles moved to Chicago to become the musical director of a new club. The venue was located inside a former factory in an isolated stretch of the West Loop neighborhood. The club was called The Warehouse, a location that would go on to become the birthplace of house music and an official Chicago landmark.

Frankie Knuckles played a creative mix of disco, funk, and European synth tunes spliced with gospel influences, drum machines, and electronic synthesizers. The crowd was mostly Black, Latino, and gay and they came to dance in a space free from racism and homophobia. The music came to be known as house music as a reference to the club that started it all. Soon, the new style (defined as songs with 4/4 rhythms and an upbeat dance tempo laced with electronic drum machines and a soulful chorus) started popping up all over lounges and house parties on the city’s south side.

While Frankie Knuckles is known as the godfather of house music, other Chicago pioneers included Jesse Saunders (credited with producing the first house music record sold to the public), Marshall Jefferson, Farley “Jackmaster” Keith, Ron Hardy, and Steve “Silk” Hurley.

By the time Frankie Knuckles left The Warehouse in 1983, house music was being played regularly on Chicago radio stations. It expanded to cities like Detroit, New York, London, and eventually the rest of the world.

Yes Music Lovers 2014 is almost over... Oh what a year it was!! Im so happy with some of the tracks I released this year.
I even tried to get more music out but you know the deal with music labels and stuff, it just isn't always working they way it supposed to.
Anyway if u like to experiment and try new things like I do its even a bigger problem to release stuff because most of the labels just want the same
familiar sound. But still I managed to show some diversity and try new things! Im so happy the groove & the funk in House music is back which made me 
produce more Housy stuff aswell. I recently released my "Deep House" tune "On My Mind" on (Main Course Music) and it got great support! 2014 was also a
Year of free music. "Shady Baby" together with Franky Rizardo was one of those free downloads alongside many other tracks like: Jump, So Fine etc. You can hear some 
of them in my Yearmix. In the beginning of the year I released "Wild Out" on DIM MAK records which was actually a sequel to "Clap" and also during ADE I released another
big room  track "Tear It Off" together with Jeff Doubleu on Revealed Records. I Didn't include these tracks into my Yearmix because I think big room should be played in a Big room, plus recently
I'm more in some kinda dancing vibe instead of jumping vibe if you know what I mean! But enough about me ! let talk about HOUSE music, because (Deep) House music is alive
and kicking! funky grooves & rhythms and filthy basslines! before I even played House records I was really into UK Garage and this new vibe brings me back to those times! 
Making House music again brings me back in my comfort zone! so you can expect some more housy tunes from me aswell. Actually I included a brand new unreleased track called "Bounce" in 
this yearmix, I don't have any info yet but its gaining massive support day by day. So lets get to the program. The tracks in this mix mean a lot to me as I played them in my sets
