2016 was a standout year for Alan Fitzpatrick, with the Drumcode stalwart racing out of the gates in spectacular fashion with the release of his fabric 87 mix. A substantial amount of high profile shows followed, including appearing at the inaugural Junction 2 festival and closing the car park to a packed-to-the-rafters-crowd at Drumcode Halloween. He returns to Drumcode with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, marking his first appearance on the label since late 2016 when he remixed Moby’s seminal ‘Porcelain’.

The release opens with ‘Brian’s Proper Dun One’, a track which caused a Twitter meltdown on Alan’s profile when he first started playing it at the tail end of 2016. Loaded with sharp and pounding drums, this is an ethereal experience from start to finish and packs a real punch. It’s a no holds barred, certified main room anthem. ‘Wait A Second’ feat. mc r1bbz has been a staple of Adam Beyer’s sets of late and has been getting a lot of air time on Drumcode Radio. This rave inspired track takes a raw, stripped back approach and delivers a real killer blow. Alan sampled the vocals of mc r1bbz from an LTJ Bukem tape pack from the early 90s and the record tips its cap to early jungle raves around the M25. The release closes with ‘Trance, Init?’; A homage to Alan’s days first and foremost as a raver before he became a DJ, with his non-purist attitude when it comes to electronic music shining through. The breakdown is sure to be a hands in the air moment at festivals all over the globe this summer.

Renowned for fostering a shared space between industry tastemakers and rising talent alike, the careful curation that goes into each volume is a fine example of why Beyer’s brand continues to go from strength to strength.

Techno titan Adam Beyer has grown Drumcode into a force to be reckoned with; the label has become synonymous with forward-thinking, functional techno and even after 20 years, Drumcode continues to find new boundaries to push, and ways to solidify its legacy as the world’s number one techno label.

2017 is no exception, with Beyer’s imprint hosting it’s first stage at Tomorrowland, not to mention the expansion of the critically acclaimed Junction 2 where the Drumcode stage is the centrepiece and Adam plays the key role of festival director. The Drumcode phenomenon continues to grow each week, chiefly fuelled by Drumcode Radio, Adam’s radio show that’s broadcast in 57 countries via 86 stations and to a global audience of 16 million techno fans per week.

The A-Sides series acts as a perfect vignette of Drumcode’s cutting-edge sound; functional yet inspired techno, all tracks tried and tested by Beyer himself. Vol. 6 continues this tradition with a collection of 16 multi-faceted cuts from a mixture of both emerging artists and experienced label friends.

"Check out the hot and lovely vocals on 'Act out Sexually'. Love the nasty techno mixed along the sensual sexy voice. The groove is definitely one to keep the dancefloor hot; keep it going along w/the trippy acid synth twists rising and rising. Love the pads swiftly coming in for the short drop - nicely done. Back on the beat w/the synths in the background keeping you in suspense with a nice intro from the voice and booming hi hat! 
cool use of that fumbling kick on the intros of both originals - 'Perverse Thoughts' is just that.... this is like a mini-techno perverse symphony; very well developed arrangements and production wise everything seems to be in place. Twisted for sure. 

Patrick Kunkel &amp; Nihil Young remix taking on a more sexy-groovy version easily digestible dance version. Still a very powerful interpretation maintaining the vocals present but not in your face; the thick synths is a nice plus on this version. Love the fact that on both versions the break is nice and short. Should def be on top list for proggy-tech club dj's working this nastiness into people's hips/minds. 

Carlo Ruetz Remix keeping true to the vibe of the original - banging rave/techno interpretation focusing more on the rhythmic side of things along w/those high synths that were re-interpreted very nicely in this version; nasty, perverse thoughts penetrating your neurons.

Nearly rounding out the EP is ‘Zeit’ where rapid fire percussion and pitch shifting cymbals set the stage for a wicked lead melody that slowly becomes engulfed by hefty sonic bursts creating the perfect melodic balance for a big room tune. Wrapping up the EP is ‘Freigeist’, and with a nod to their early Perlon influences the two churn out a killer 15 minute journey of organic drums and lush atmospheres ideal for open airs and after-hours.

BIOGRAPHY
Skober is a Ukrainian techno DJ and producer with his unique deep-techno style. Having good music background and experience playing in rock band in his early youth it is no surprise that after being infected by House vibes this young man jumped on the right wagon. 

Keeping up the original works for his home label Skober has done lots of tracks and remixes for labels like Drumcode, Phobiq, Respekt, Trapez, Fone Audio, Remain, Rhythm Converted, Spark Musik, Code, Organism. There were numerous entries in techno and minimal tops on different music shops all over the world done by Skober's music and he got support from some serious players in this industry. 

He is supported by such famous artists as Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Joseph Capriati, Slam, Dubfire, Sasha Carassi, Markantonio, Luigi Madonna, Harvey McKay, Mark Reeve, Spektre, Tom Hades, Axel Karakasis, Steve Parker Loco & Jam, Mr. Bizz, RedHead and many others. But he is not running over the quantity of tracks as his main point is quality and ideas. So watch out and support!
