Back on the label for the second time in the space of only a few months, Luca Marchese has been busy filling the gap with new releases and remixes on Riot Recordings, Prospect and Octopus.

Other labels to have featured music from this rising star include Respekt, Kraftek, Phobiq, Tronic and AnalyticTrail.

Having spent many years DJing locally in his hometown of Caserta in Italy, the success of his productions has led to him starting to get international bookings in places such as Germany and beyond.

Eclipse opens the EP with its pounding kick drum surrounded by dark atmospherics from which the analogue tones of the arpeggiated lead synth slowly emerge. The jovial melody provides stark contrast within this sinister track thats set for dance floor destruction.

Neptune is second on the release and its stripped back style is filled by the fluttering bursts of melody that cut through the shadowy mood of the swelling pads. Grinding bass stabs add to the drama that unfolds with a steady momentum and dark tension.

State Of Being closes proceedings while also ramping up the suspense by blending thrashing percussion, off-beat rhythms, and euphoric acid that underpins the urgency of the stabbing lead. Stylish and primed for peak time club plays, its the perfect way to box off this well rounded package of thumping techno.

If you want a snapshot of where techno stands in any given year, and a preview of where it’s headed, look no further than Drumcode’s A-Sides compilation. Since 2012 it has marked the label debuts of countless vital Drumcode artists and affiliates, from Layton Giordani, Wehbba and Boxia, to Amelie Lens and ANNA, no less. Every year, new names are unearthed, tried and true techno contributors serve up their best, and icons of the industry land their debut on Adam Beyer’s storied label.

The 2020 edition hits with 13 tracks, eight coming from label debutants. There’s Eats Everything searing rave bomb ‘Organico’ and Dubfire’s ice-cool electro offering ‘Deadbug’, both artists landing their maiden contributions to DC after long affiliations with Beyer. With three EPs in less than two years on Truesoul, Oscar L steps up to DC, showing the breadth of his sound palette with a soaring, synth-laden gem ‘Dark Fate’. Belgians Joyhauser featured at last year’s Drumcode Festival paving the way for ‘Fierceness’, a beautiful melody-drenched cut befitting their DC cap. Anfisa Letyago is another first timer and shows why she’s one of the scene’s most highly touted new artists with the brooding beast ‘Are You In’. A growing label favourite, Juliet Fox follows up ‘Was Beautiful’, her superb track on last year’s A-Sides, with ‘Our Fantasy’, reinforcing her skill for crafting anthemic techno compositions. Thomas Schumacher & Victor Ruiz link and the result is ‘Intuit’, a sleek futuristic roller that hits you square between the eyes. Other highlights come from longtime Drumcode cohorts Reset Robot and Harvey McKay, who both dish up premium works, reinforcing their classy productions nous.

BIOGRAPHY
Skober is a Ukrainian techno DJ and producer with his unique deep-techno style. Having good music background and experience playing in rock band in his early youth it is no surprise that after being infected by House vibes this young man jumped on the right wagon. 

Keeping up the original works for his home label Skober has done lots of tracks and remixes for labels like Drumcode, Phobiq, Respekt, Trapez, Fone Audio, Remain, Rhythm Converted, Spark Musik, Code, Organism. There were numerous entries in techno and minimal tops on different music shops all over the world done by Skober's music and he got support from some serious players in this industry. 

He is supported by such famous artists as Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, Joseph Capriati, Slam, Dubfire, Sasha Carassi, Markantonio, Luigi Madonna, Harvey McKay, Mark Reeve, Spektre, Tom Hades, Axel Karakasis, Steve Parker Loco & Jam, Mr. Bizz, RedHead and many others. But he is not running over the quantity of tracks as his main point is quality and ideas. So watch out and support!
