PREMIERE: SLACK 1NE - MOVE

For the first release of the year, Manchester-based imprint Club Romantico is set to team up with Manuka Honey for her label debut. The two-track release ‘Machete/777’ is set to release on the 3rd of March and includes collaborations with label founder Florentino and La Favi. 

Born out of a breakup, the release captures the feeling of revenge and the rage of women as Manuka Honey reclaims the tropes of Latina women being sexualised and vilified as aggressive. "It’s a reflection on revenge and protection. The ways they go hand in hand, and how catharsis can manifest sonically. Rage is the haunting yet clear emotion that ties these tracks together,” says Manuka Honey. ‘Machete’, in collaboration with Florentino, sees Manuka Honey use her voice for the first time. On the flip, ‘777’ is a dramatic team up with Latin Grammy award winner La Favi. 

‘Machete/777’ is the beginning of a busy year for Manuka Honey who will be embarking on a Machete tour from the 23rd February, traveling across Asia, before a string of summer festival dates including REWIRE, Sonar and Melt Festival.

前回のSPRING FESTIVAL 2023も大盛況で幕を閉じたRe:CHEMICAL MONSTERSが6/24(土)夏至祭2023を開催決定。

今回はLivity Soundなど世界中のレーベルから自身の楽曲をリリースし、国内外問わずワールドワイドな活動を展開するDayzero、TREKKIE TRAXの主宰メンバーの1人として活動し、なかむらみなみのトータルサウンドプロデュースも手掛けるandrew、TYO GQOMのメンバーの1人であり、GqomやAmapianoなど南アフリカのダンスミュージックに特化したDJとして活動するmitokon、ジャングリストとしてTribal Connectionに所属しながらも、BreakbeatsやDrum & Bass、UK Garageなどジャンルの垣根を超えた大胆なミックスを展開するHALU、岩壁音楽祭の主宰メンバーの1人であり、Tribalを軸にフロアに応じてあらゆるジャンルをミックスするscrab、そしてケミモン主宰、NAAFIやTREKKIE TRAX、USI KUVOなど世界中のレーベルから自身の楽曲をリリースするWRACKが登場する。

夏至祭とは毎年6月にフィンランド／ヘルシンキにて開催されるお祭りで、コッコと呼ばれる篝火を焚き続け、朝までダンスをしたり大騒ぎすることで、悪魔を追い払い、どれだけ大騒ぎしたかで今年の収穫量が決まると言い伝えられている。

Pressure is the third EP from Parisian DJ and producer BJF (@djbjf). It follows Iridescent and Uprooted, released in 2020 and 2022. A key member of the collective, label, and media Couvre x Chefs, BJF has released original tracks on several record labels (Lowup, Egregore, XXIII, Sacrilejio Records, Météo ) and a bunch of thoughtful edits. His productions have been played on Boiler Room, NTS, Rinse FM, Rinse France, Hör, BBC, Reprezent, etc.

Just months after the acclaimed Uprooted, BJF is back on the label arm of Couvre x Chefs with an explosive three-track EP ready to sweat clubs and shake festivals. Entitled Pressure, this one reinforces the style of BJF which he refines release after release: resolutely club percussive titles, punctuated with characteristic ad-libs, increasingly (re)worked vocals, and sharp melodies. On the percussion side, the producer from Greater Paris finely selects cuts with precision and reassembles to the millimeter the most boiling rhythms from the four corners of the planet. The result is by nature unclassifiable - post club, hybrid club, or global club - but promises to make everyone agree on the dancefloors of Melbourne to Saõ Paulo via Paris or Berlin.
