In Sudan-- protesters said this afternoon that they reject the military declaration that it has no ambitions to hold on to power. Defence Minister Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibn Auf announced the ousting of President Omar al-Bashir, along with a state of emergency, curfew, borders closing and suspension of the constitution. Today, Lieutenant Colonel Omar Zein Adedeen said that it wasn't a coup, but a response to calls by the people. Protesters remained on the streets this morning, refusing to abide by the curfew. RFI's Laura Angela Bagnetto spoke to Magdi El-Ghizouli, a fellow with the Rift Valley Institute in Kenya , and a Sudan analyst. He says it is the same regime, but it is looking for a civilian head:
