Edgar Jesus Nava Quiroz, better known by his stage name SkoolkidD, was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the youngest of four siblings. When Edgar was seven years old his mother fled his alcoholic and abusive father, bringing her two youngest sons with her. After a harrowing journey across the border into the US, they found refuge shortly in New Mexico before settling in Telluride CO, where Edgar discovered his knack for writing and love of hip hop music. Taking cues from his influences, such as J.Cole and Nas, SkoolkidD is known for his smooth flows and rich in lyrical content. The positive energy he brings to every song allows him to rap over a variety of styles of beats while maintaining a cohesive sound. Though only 18, SkoolkidD has already performed at a number of venues across the states.
