With a penchant for subtle groove and emotive shifts between genres, my sound centers itself around trance, bass, breaks and the deeper reaches of techno. This time I choose more of subtly rhythmic pulses of 4x4 drums reactivating that trancey feeling of liberating yourself on the dance floor (finally back in our sights).

In Leipzig gehört die Verhandlung von Themen wie die Geschlechtergleichberechtigung innerhalb der Clubkultur zum gängigen Diskurs, und kann als Teil des subkulturellen Selbstverständnisses verstanden werden. Eine große Anzahl feministischer Gruppen und Netzwerke sowie der Anspruch eines ausgeglichenen und diversen Bookings waren maßgeblich daran beteiligt, dass weibliche* DJ's in den letzten Jahren mehr Sichtbarkeit erlangten. Ein deutliches Ungleichgewicht bezüglich der Repräsentation von Frauen* lässt sich jedoch im Bereich der Musikproduktion beobachten. Hier sind es noch immer wenige, die eigene Musik produzieren und auf Labels veröffentlichen können. In dem Podcast gehen wir der Frage nach, welche Zugänge und Schwierigkeiten es für Frauen in der Sphäre der elektronischen Musikproduktion gibt. Dafür haben wir zwei Leipziger Produzentinnen zu ihren Erfahrungen interviewt: Charlotte, DJ, Produzentin und Mitbegründerin des feministischen Netzwerkes Feat. Fem sowie Lydia Eisenblätter, die als DJ, Produzentin und Labelbetreiberin tätig ist.

Dies ist ein Podcast von Emily Bandt und Carlotta Jacobi, der im Rahmen des Seminars "Sprechen. Hören. Denken. Leipziger Podcast-Ethnografie" am Institut für Kulturwissenschaften an der Uni Leipzig entstanden ist.
