Krofi Ep. 2

You start ripping off the vines to reveal a slightly rusted, but beautiful, Orange muscle car from an era long ago. You open the door and look to find a key in the ignition. 
 'no way this thing still works.' 
You laugh to yourself as you climb in and turn the ignition for kicks.
The car roars to life with a guttural bass that you've never felt before as birds that were perched in the rafters scatter for the sky.
You look straight ahead. its the exit to this forsaken shopping center. 
*click*
 The radio comes to life and starts blasting whatever CD is stuck in the drive. You don't think twice before you slam your foot on the gas and screech through the final exit of this terrifying maze.

Drifting Away

You step out into a decades old abandoned mall filled with vines and huge trees, overgrown and reaching for the sunlight peaking through the roof, half collapsed from years of neglect. the floor has barely any visible tiles left. Most of them have been taken over by weeds and grass. You can't make out store signs anymore, but you can tell where the stores used to be. Almost every one of them has turned into dense little forests.
 As you take a step forward, the mall comes to life. The lights that still exist flicker to life with an almost familiar buzzing, and all of the sudden a noise can be heard throughout the entire facility. It's music? The song of a once living mall has become its own personal death song as it slowly gets devoured by mother nature.
You explore for a while, expecting to find an exit, making sure to leave markings in the trees as a sort of bread crumb incase you need to get back to the elevator. Mall's can't be that big, can they?

Dead Mall

You don't remember how you got here. You're in the middle of a huge open field of tall grass. The sun has just slipped beyond the tree line as the wind picks up.
  You're standing in front of a small 5' by 5' building with an elevator door. 
   "This makes no sense. why would an elevator be in the middle of this field?"
You ask yourself.
You don't remember how you got here.
A small fluorescent bulb situated above the elevator buzzes to life, illuminating the space.
'Ding!'
The elevator door slides open. Inside is a cold metal interior with a worn down, red carpet. You don't remember how you got here, but you're compelled to move forward. you take a few steps into the lift and look at the buttons. There's only one button with the word 'Up' inscribed below it. A small, unassuming screen sits above it. 
"Up? there's nothing above this thing. How can it go up?" You say aloud as curiosity takes hold. You press the button and the elevator springs to life as the door shuts behind you. The small screen whirs and a video of a speech from one of the Rocky movies pops up.
Then you feel it. The elevator starts to move up. defying all known laws of physics. It's fast, too. you feel your weight increase significantly as the small room speeds towards the sky. there's no way of knowing where you're headed next, but you sit down and brace for some sort of impact.
 After almost two minutes of endless climbing, the room starts to slow it's ascent and comes to a gentle stop. You're in shock, but grateful to be alive. you stand up and prepare yourself for whatever awaits next.
'Ding!'
The door slides open..

Elevator Music

You come across a store front lit up in broken and flickering neon signs. under the brush, you can barely make out the word 'Arcade" lit up in different colors. 
The entrance is completely overgrown except for a small gap between 2 trees. Inside it looks dark, but you take a deep breath and push your way inside.
 Its almost a time capsule once you enter. Arcade machines and tons of different games fill the huge space. Lights and sounds fill the room with a slightly eerie but pleasant tune. One game catches your eye. an old space shooter you used to play as a kid. 
'please insert 2 credits' the machine reads, and like clockwork, 2 quarters roll out from under the machine right at your feet.
you pick them up and toss them into the coinslots, rest your hands on the joystick and buttons, and lose yourself in nostalgia.

P L A Y

As the arcade flashes a "Game Over" screen, you hear a noise behind you. It's a mockingbird just hovering behind you. Almost as if it's interested in what you're doing, or who you are. you stand still, staring at the bird as it hovers back and forth staring right back at you.
The song that played over the loudspeaker out in the mall has seemed to have withered away. The bird flies towards the door but stops and turns around, as if to goad you into following.
 You're hesitant, but without much thought, you follow the bird. Its fast, so you have to jog to keep up, but its obvious at this point that the bird isn't trying to get away, but keeping you following.
as you're running deeper into this seemingly endless mall forest, you start to worry that maybe this bird is leading you somewhere dangerous, but your worries quickly fade as the dense overgrown halls open up to an enormous atrium with a huge hole in the ceiling where a skylight once was. Light pours in and casts a blanket of sunlight over what seems to be a bush propped up in the middle of the atrium. you walk closer and realize its vines covering an old car.
