We are delighted to share you that Taupe releases on Deeptrax' Tech-um label. After releasing on Indigo Aera's AE-X and Impress records in Berlin, Taupe launched his own recordlabel: Colours Records. On ‘Two sides of the same coin’ EP, Taupe displays his dualistic take on the techno genre, celebrating both its beauty and ruggedness.

With the Detroitish opener ‘Altum’, Taupe guides the listener into a blissful rabbit hole, filled with dreamlike-arpeggiators and pounding rhythms, bringing ultimo sci-fi sounds from far away.
‘Shimmer’ brings subtle acidic squelches, crisp hats and modulating synths paving the way into destination unknown.

On the B-side, Taupe takes a sudden left into more dark terrain. The menacing ‘Joker’ teases, agitates but ultimately drives you into a Dionysian state of madness which reminds us of Jeff Mills his fierce Axis stuff. Lastly, ‘Black Box’ will make sure that any residual ounce of energy in your body will get extracted with this vein 303 styled monster track!

After a small hiatus, Polychrome Radio returns to offer the stage to not only a great DJ but also to one of the silent architects of Amsterdam's cultural scene. Pieter de Beaufort impressive work ethic, open mindedness and sharp eye for talent has been instrumental in the recent very active music programming of Oost's multidisciplinary and unique venue, Studio/K. 

As the space's cultural programmer, Pieter has been involved with several local and international projects. Some highlights from the past year include multidisciplinary showcases with Immaterial.Archives and Violazioni Sonore. He also co-organized Sapodilla; an event that explored the origins of house and techno music and its fundamental relation to black and black queer identity and activism through a documentary screening, a panel talk and a subsequent club night at Garage Noord. On top of this, he is currently working on an international collaborative project focused on the intersection between technology, visual art, and music, creating multidisciplinary events throughout Europe that include audiovisual performances, club nights, workshops, and exhibitions.

About the podcast, he expressed "the wish to explore multiple sounds within the realms of ambient, deep techno, and leftfield d&b. I stayed close to my sound by sticking to the eerie atmospheres and multi-deck layers of hypnotic rhythms that form an integral part of my sets. Throughout the set, you’ll find a steady amount of groove at its foundation."

This recording is a very deep voyage into the realms of deeper techno. We felt that groove as much as we felt the unique energy that Pieter has. The energy of the passion for carefully curated music and art. Enjoy !

The rhythm, the groove and faith in simplicity. All of them are hallmarks of Skudge. Started as a duo in 2009, the project is now a solo effort (with live performance help from another individual). The Skudge universe has come a long way from the anonymous and humble beginnings to world-wide recognition through the labels Skudge Records, Skudge Presents and Skudge White.

Right from the start, the main output has been on Skudge’s own label. This resulted in a Berghain live set right after the first release of Skudge Records. 

A steady string of vinyl releases followed, with remix EP’s in conjunction of their own work. Their unique take on music also produced EP’s on Dekmantel and Indigo Area as well as remixes on a wide array of talented artists such as Donato Dozzy, Anthony „Shake“ Shakir, Instra:mental, Ben Sims, among others.

The fine sense of loops, detail and taste have reached people for almost a decade. Be it through their EP’s or albums, hardware focused live sets which has been performed at numerous clubs and events world-wide or by way of recognized labels and podcasts: one thing remains, which is that the Skudge artistry and label are here to stay.
