Kicking off with direct, subtle and in-tune basement dust, Skudge has managed to capture two weekend modes.

This is a soundtrack for either those apprehensive moments, where things start to fall into place and the crowd is rest assured that this will be a time to remember.

But Soundworks is also the soundtrack for those areas that turn party-goers into altered silhouettes, captured between strobe light flashes. Those types of situations, where the smoke and sweat meet in between the last dances.

From start to finish, the fourth album carries a sound that is coherent. What Soundworks means, is that all of the nine tracks on the LP are multi-dimensional, without losing traction. There are adrenal spikes but there are also drifters - most significant in the tracks ’Floating’, ’Scape’ and ’Likemind’.

All-in-all, what we have here is a return to form for Skudge, with a capital S.

The rhythm, the groove and faith in simplicity. All of them are hallmarks of Skudge. Started as a duo in 2009, the project is now a solo effort (with live performance help from another individual). The Skudge universe has come a long way from the anonymous and humble beginnings to world-wide recognition through the labels Skudge Records, Skudge Presents and Skudge White.

Right from the start, the main output has been on Skudge’s own label. This resulted in a Berghain live set right after the first release of Skudge Records. 

A steady string of vinyl releases followed, with remix EP’s in conjunction of their own work. Their unique take on music also produced EP’s on Dekmantel and Indigo Area as well as remixes on a wide array of talented artists such as Donato Dozzy, Anthony „Shake“ Shakir, Instra:mental, Ben Sims, among others.

The fine sense of loops, detail and taste have reached people for almost a decade. Be it through their EP’s or albums, hardware focused live sets which has been performed at numerous clubs and events world-wide or by way of recognized labels and podcasts: one thing remains, which is that the Skudge artistry and label are here to stay.

Normal blends various walks of house music, breakbeat, acid, disco, and electro, viewing music as a fluid journey that touches the soul and moves the body. His production journey has honed his artistic abilities, allowing him to craft sets that can be both slow and impactful or straight-up create a hard house vibe. With his unique style, he blurs the lines between DJing, production, and performance, modestly challenging the status quo of dance music. His music draws significant influences from Cajemre, Jamie Jones, Rick Wilhite, Mike Dunn, Mike Huckaby, Moodymann, Theo Parrish, DJ Icey, Bassbin Twins, and many other legendary dance music artists contributing to his distinctive sound.
Having spent almost two decades deeply immersed in dance music, Normal credits dance music as his greatest support, helping him navigate life. Believing that dancing is a unique privilege, he views the culture as a modern-day religion. Normal's dedication to his craft enables his performances to deliver a spectrum of experiences, known for his meticulously crafted mixes.
