skull:axis formed by accident in 1998 in brighton, england [ known as a hotbed of creative + alternative culture ], when two like-minded individuals [ who happened to be neighbours ]. with a love of old-school industrial and experimental music, skull:axis was propelled into life. 

several live performances followed, accompanied by live visuals an array of effects, high-pitched noise generators and random metal objects [ often drilled into and beaten with chains ]. this created a mercilessly dark and disorientating atmosphere. this original incarnation culminated in a support slot for darkwave / industrial veterans 'attrition' in 1999. 

after a prolonged hiatus and with the original members parting ways [ amicably ] skull:axis was reborn in 2011... the rest will be history in the making.
