Hanacpachap cussicuinin is an anonymous hymn to the Virgin Mary in the Quechua language but written in the European sacred music style. Composed by Franciscan friar Juan Pérez Bocanegra and published in 1631. This is the the earliest work of vocal polyphony printed in the New World.

My version of The Three Ravens an English folk song, originally published in 1611 by Thomas Ravenscroft, but the tune is perhaps older than that.
The original lyrics are:
There were three ravens sat on a tree,
down a down, hay down, hay down,
There were three ravens sat on a tree,
with a down,
There were three ravens sat on a tree,
They were as black as they might be.
With a down, derrie, derrie, derrie, down, down.
The one of them said to his mate,
Where shall we our breakfast take?
Down in yonder green field,
There lies a Knight slain under his shield,
His hounds they lie down at his feet,
So well they can their Master keep,
His Hawks they fly so eagerly,
There's no fowl dare him come nie
Down there comes a fallow Doe,

The Three Ravens

Skutaj is a solo project that seeks to reimagine early music and folk music, typically drawing from medieval and renaissance dance music sources. Skutaj was formed with the idea of creating an atmosphere that draws the listener into another realm using mostly acoustic and period instruments. My early influences come from punk, gothic industrial, electronic, and experimental music, but later I fell in love with early music and began studying the recorder, shawm, baritone ukulele, and drum, which are all used in my music. Skutaj began in April 2020 as a creative challenge with my sister, Amanda Johnson, who is a fine art painter in Florida to produce some creative output every day for 30 days to counteract the isolation we felt at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. The tunes I recorded are collected in my "Covid19 30 Day Isolation Challenge" playlist on SoundCloud. Since then I've been remixing and remastering some of these tunes as well as producing more and making them available on Spotify, Apple Music, and elsewhere. My visual art attempts to draw the viewer into an abstracted other-dimensional world.
