Christ Loved The Church

2 From dust of earth the man He made
In His image and His likeness;
The breath of life to man He gave
Among creation he was matchless.
As God beheld the man, the same desire reflected!
The echo of His heart, the words He said:
"It is not good for man to be alone;
I will make for him a counterpart!"
Yet the animals and birds of heav'n, as Adam named each one,
There was not found a helper as his counterpart.

3 So God prepared for him a bride,
A slumber made to fall upon him,
And took a rib out from his side
And built the woman who would match him
As she was brought to man, the joy in God resounded!
He longed to say the words that Adam said,
"Bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh;
She will be for me a counterpart!"
Because out of man she was taken, united to be one,
The same as he in life to satisfy his heart.

4 Then God became a man in flesh,
The real Adam incarnated.
As Jesus lived, He found no rest
Until the cross's work completed.
The one grain fell and died to rise in resurrection,
Released His life, produced the many grains.
"Husbands love your wives, even as Christ
Loved the church and gave Himself for her."
Because out of Christ, water flowed out, imparted into us
To thus produce the church, which satisfies His heart.

5 And at the closing of this age,
When His bride has been perfected,
The romance from eternal days
Has its story consummated.
The Lord will come again, the church to Him presented;
And then at last, the words that He might say:
"Bone of My bones… flesh of My flesh…
The church at last shall be My counterpart!"
Because out of Christ, she was taken, united to be one,
The same as He in life to satisfy His heart!

Counterpart

This spreading of Christ as the divine life into our heart is our sanctification and is very much needed as we draw closer to the Lords second coming. We realize that this world is getting more intense and harder to overcome, so we need to be sanctified wholly, spirit, soul and body, from the defiling influence and affect of this age. Our prayer in offering this CD to the Lord is that many young people will consecrate themselves and allow Christ to make His home in their hearts thus possessing their vessels in sanctification and honor.

Genesis 24

1. The Bible is a romance
In the most holy sense:
God and His chosen people
In love it so presents.
This Universal Couple
Throughout it is displayed;
God in Christ is the Bridegroom,
His saints, the Bride, portrayed.
2. Through shadows, types and figures,
God’s deepest thought is known;
As typified by Adam,
The Husband, Christ, is shown.
A rib brought forth from Adam
Reveals the source of life
By which God built a woman:
Eve, as the church, His wife.
3. To be His people’s Husband,
To take them as His wife:
This is what God desires
To live in marriage life.
Their sacrifice and worship
Alone could not content;
But with them to be married
Was God’s foremost intent.
4. This romance is the finest
As seen in Song of Songs;
For her Beloved’s kisses
His seeking lover longs.
Love’s work in her produces
No person of her own,
But she becomes the City,
Her Person, Christ alone.
5. Christ is our coming Bridegroom;
We are the Church, His Bride,
Redeemed, regenerated,
